Sounds like summer Med pricing. I guess prices will always be higher when kids are out if school and more families can go. I'm glad I got to go on at least one long cruise during the school year. Wish I could do it again but I won't be able to.

If you want a long, relatively inexpensive (for Disney) cruise - consider the May 18-June 1, 2013 Transatlantic. Transatlantic cruises in general are among cruise lines' best values, and you get a lot of sea days on most itineraries.

I'd love to but unfortunately that's still during the school year. My son is 5 and although he did great on the ship, he had a difficult time adjusting at school when we got back from the Hawaii cruise. So, I will likely not pull him out again. Hopefully we can try again when he's older because I loved the long cruise on Disney.

I think another problem with why they don't do the longer cruises is when they do them they have to take some of the inside cabins out of commission for extra dry goods storage. The Magic and Wonder are only designed to have enough space for about a weeks worth of food on board.

Thanks for all the great responses . I wasn't taking kids into consideration because the Oct 2014 cruise we were looking at wouldn't involve kids. It would actually be a celebration of getting my daughter into college . I wasn't even thinking about the family aspect of it.

very true but when they have multiple sea day between the ports they need extra storage.
