Didn't think we would, but we actually liked it!

I liked the popcorn part -- they can keep the soup.

I liked it too. I agree with the poster who said it was like corn chowder. I did eat the popcorn separately rather than add it to the soup.

I really liked it! Agree with those who said it tasted like corn chowder. Kinda sweet, creamy. Actually was probably one of my favorite items along with black truffle pasta pursiettes. Matter of taste!!

Do they serve that the first or second night at AP? I'll have dinner at Palo the first night of AP, so I hope that's when they serve it!

Hi, Nancy.

Please don't hold me to this...but, if i recall from our Fantasy Eastern at the end of July, the popcorn soup was the second night at AP. I seem to recall that it was with the "you get to draw it" animation show.

I know that taste is subjective...however, DS and I both tried it and found it to be among the least favorite items we've had in 11 cruises. We also found the peppercorn steak to be way too heavy on the pepper. All in all, we may have just had a bad night, but we weren't fond of this menu at all.

We'll see you on the Podcast cruise...hopefully we'll have a better dining experience that night!

Thanks for the info! I think I'll choose a different appetizer or salad instead of the popcorn soup.

See you on the ship!

I have seen the recipe. It is just cream, butter and chicken stock with some seasoning. Then they throw some popcorn in.

It is really just an unflavored chowder.

Never had it. Never heard of it. Googled it. Must be common because there are pages and pages of receipes. Several referred to it as "Popcorn Soup (Corn Chowder)". Guess it's no stranger than eating snails.
