Star Wars news!

The Hollywood Reporter is confirming that Lawrence Kasdan is going to produce and write installments of the next Star Wars movies. Don't know who Lawrence Kasdan is? I weep for you...

From the rumors I've been reading, they're looking at Kasdan for ep 8, and Simon Kinberg for ep 9. I think they could do better than Kasdan with some of the other amazing writers out there, but it would be riskier. Kasdan's a safe choice and probably a good one.

Now Kinberg if true ... why? He's known for coming in and rapidly writing a passable to decent story when a production is up against a wall or under a quick deadline. Is he just going to get a 1st pass together that will get polished by other writers, or has Disney/Lucasfilm already started milking the Star Wars cow til it's dry, releasing films as fast as possible to keep the cash rolling. I guess I shouldn't be surprised if that's the case.

I'm remaining cautiously optimistic (while panicking in reality) until I know who will direct Episode 7. That will say a lot IMO.

Well no matter what they do I think we can all agree that they can't screw up worse than Phantom Menace.

Jedi is my wife's favorite, mine is Empire. We are an ongoing argument about it. I like Jedi better than any of the prequels, though. Well, actually, I might like Revenge of the Sith better.

The Ewoks didn't really bother me, though. I didn't dislike it, really. Just not my favorite.

You can blame the DIRECTOR for that. The original script called for the big battle to have WOOKIES in it. Lucas decided to go with the teddy bears. Not Kasdan's fault.
