Hollywood Brown Derby dilemma!
We ended up switching our DHS and Epcot days but had to give up our F! Pkg at Mama Melrose. The only one available was HBD. The menu has changed since then - no more Samuel Adams braised short ribs. Nothing else excites me, which is sad as we are using 2TS for it. Any thoughts? Should we cancel and then stand in line for Fantasmic? This is our only DHS day. Our ADR is soon, Nov 30.

I know this soooo subjective to your tastes, but, I love the Brown Derby.
I have been twice in the past year (October last visit) and have not been let down. Suggestions: Potato Leek Soup Cobb Salad (great to share or as an app) Grilled Salmon Filet of Beef (so tender I could cut it with a fork!) Duck Two Ways Dusted Grouper ANY of the desserts. The service has always been great. It is a restaurant where you are not rushed. I ate solo last visit and was there over an hour total for the whole meal. I loved it! |

They also serve really nice rolls and butter. As an added bonus, they have some very nice wines by the glass. We will go back, it is a great place to eat. |

I also really like the HBD! I had the Cobb salad, filet, and chocolate three ways for dessert in October. Everything was really yummy. For my family, being able to get the Fantasmic Package is an added bonus because we like the restaurant anyway.

No bar.
I also love the Brown Derby but I would not spend all that money to eat there if I didn't want the food.

You can continue checking to see if a F! Dining Package opens up at MM.
Otherwise you have to weigh the benefit of the F!DP to decide if you feel this is worth using 2 credits for a place where the menu doesn't appeal to you. We like the food at HBD so the F!DP is ideal for our family. The steak and the salmon have been excellent. We split the Cobb Salad so everyone in the family gets a portion. The only thing I didn't care for was the Grapefruit Cake, but there are other delicious desserts. To the person who asked - there isn't a bar at HBD. There's a counter where someone mixes the drinks, but there aren't any seats.

we did pick this just because there was no other F! Pkg available and my sister will find standing in line for a long time for F! Too hard. She is also allergic to fish so her options are limited. We will likely choose the filet. I was so looking forward to those short ribs! I keep checking MM several times a day but so far, no luck.

I just spotted a MM F! pkg available but when I tried to book it, I got a server error. I tried again, nothing happened. I finally called and it was gone....oh well, HBD, here we come.

Another vote for it. It is delicious and I honestly feel that the servers are exemplary. Been there twice and it was stellar.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant. The filet and grouper are to die for!

I also love this restaurant. Try the pork chop. I usually eat fish but I had the pork chop last month and it was amazing. I booked again for December so that I could have that chop again.

Okay, you guys have me convinced to try it here. I am sure that the service will be great and this is a place I have never been to (in fact, never been to a signature). I will try either the pork chop or the filet. BTW, I am the only one who has all her entrees picked out a couple of weeks before the trip? Am I food obsessed? LOL
