We were there when Isacc hit at the end of August. Honestly, we slapped on our rain coats and went out. No big deal. We have been at the end of august a few times and at the end of September early October and the weather was the same, a mid day rain storm, in and out quickly. No big deal. I would never sit in the room watching the news about a possible storm.

Love that time of year, low crowds, free dining, cheap flights, etc.

1. Hurricane season
2. It's the beginning of the school year, typically not a great time for parents to pull their kids out of school.
3. It's hot, hot, hot and humid, humid, humid. Weather-wise, with the risk of hurricanes and the heat, it's not an ideal time to visit Florida.

we go every year in september right around labor day. in matter of fact every trip we have gone in september. we get free dining and the rooms are cheaper than other times of the year. another benefit is that the parks are not packed at all. the only weather issues we have experienced is a day or two with rain for a few hours at the most. if you can get free dining plus cheaper hotel rates then i say go for it.

Yes you would if it was the kind of storm that ripped houses apart. At least I hope you would be smart enough to.

Hurricane season is from June 1-November 1 and late August through mid Sept is prime hurricane season. No one can predict with any certainty whether a cane will strike FL or not. That's wone reason Disney discounted prices for that time of year. Another reason is kids are back in school and WDW tried to get tourists with better pricing in Sept.
