I saw it a couple of weeks ago at a sneak preview. It was one of the best movies I have seen this year. Daniel Day Lewis was incredible in that movie!
I posted a link a couple of weeks ago that I found interesting. I'll post it again since it is Lincoln related... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_iq5...layer_embedded This is from a 1956 game show - "I've Got a Secret". In the show, panelists have to figure out a contestant's secret. If the panel is stumped, the contestant wins. Samuel Seymour (age 96) is the contestant. His secret - he was at the Ford's Theater and witnessed the assassination of Lincoln. At the time, he was the last living eyewitness from the theater.

I think there are some scenes that might be hard for a younger child to watch.
Slight Spoilers: There is a wheel barrow full of amputated limbs with dripping blood. There are scenes of Lincoln riding a horse through the battle scene with hundreds of dead bodies. |

Actually, the movie is loosely based on the book by Doris Kearns Goodwin called "Team of Rivals."

I thought this was a great movie. Kudo's to Spielberg for how he handled the assassination.

My teenage son wants to see it. I was surprised since he's usually not into history.
Turns out his new History teacher told the kids that if they go back to school after Thanksgiving break with a ticket stub from this movie he'll give them 10 points on their grade. My son could definitely use the points so that's why he wants to see it. LOL
