Adding Someone...
My mom and I booked our upcoming February Disney vacation a while back. We got the Stay Play Dine deal at Riverside (garden view) with 8 day PH. We recently got our flights for less money than we originally paid so got back credit and were thinking of taking someone else with us. She is 16 and when I added up online how much it would be to add her to the package, it comes out to roughly $497. When we phoned Disney and asked them how much it would cost, the representative told us around $600.
Does anyone know why there would be about a $100 difference between what price I get and what Disney is giving me over the phone? We did manage to get ours before the price of the deal went up about $100 so not sure if that would be it our not. When we booked ours, it cost $2,638 (we opted for the Disney insurance since it saved me in the past when I got sick during a trip and paid the whole hospital bill. Without the insurance, it would have been $2,486. When I price the deal now, it comes up as $2,576 (without insurance) and to add the extra person on (under 17) it would be $3,073 (without insurance) which is a difference of $497. |

So, if you have paid $2486 toward the package (without insurance) and your new total when adding the 16 year old is $3073 (no insurance), then to add her would cost $587. 3073 - 2486 = 587. I think that is how Disney is calculating the extra $100

Talked to a Disney rep on the website earlier tonight and she said that it should be the price I am getting when using the website ($497). I will try calling tomorrow and seeing what happens.

I don't know if it would account for $100, but the price on the website is pretax and the price by the phone CM is after taxes.
Just doing very quick math, early in the morning before a round of coffee and a pediatric doctor's appointment lol - 12.5% added onto $500 would make it $625. I think they tax everything together, and not separately, so it sounds like it might just be taxes, which again, you're not seeing online. |

When I price the new one with her added, it is $3,073 (grand total on the price summary page). Shouldn't it show taxes on the grand total price summary page? |

Also, check on your confirmation email and make sure your package code didn't change. Sometimes the CM won't notice that it bumps you into rack rate if you've got a discount on there when they're editing. Last edited by aaarcher86; 11-13-2012 at 12:57 PM. |

We phoned back today and were told it was going to cost almost $600 to add her to the room again...
When I added her to the room of someone we just booked for, the difference is only $497. The total they told us on the phone was the same total I got when adding her to this person's room. Not sure why it is like $100 more to add her to our room when it should only come out to $497. |

When I price it now, it comes out to $3,225.83 (with the insurance for 2 adults and 1 child). If you take those two prices, it equals $587 (as you said). I was thinking that Disney should give you the price you originally paid instead of what the pricing is now. When I take the difference between what we paid (before insurance) and what we paid today for another package, it is a difference of $90 (supposed to both be SPD at the same hotel, same tickets, same length of stay and dates, etc.). If I take the $90 and add $497 to it, it equals $587. Last edited by bluehawaii19; 11-14-2012 at 05:40 PM. |

You only pay for insurance for the adults in your party. It's 75.95 per adults. Minor children are covered under their parents.

Yeah, I knew that (as long as all the adults in the room have it which we do). No matter what way I price it, it is either $497 or $587 to add her (depending on which room I put her in).
