We will be trying out the Budget BCD X474200 for the first time on our upcoming trip Dec. 22 to Jan. 6. Our total price is $524.91 USD and seems to be the best deal out there for a mini van. We were not able to apply the $25.00 coupon code MUWZ023 as it appears be be valid only if you rent from an airport location. We decided to rental off site and the savings were about $100. If anyone has any air miles sitting in their account, under the travel section, there are $100 gift certificates to trade in for 950 air miles for US Budget locations. I will be getting two so that will knock off a couple hundred dollars off our rental. I was a little nervous about using this X474200 code but it sounds like many folks have used it for several years without any documentation being asked. Thumbs up for the Fastpass. We have used it in Florida on past trips and we were always in and out a lot quicker than the people waiting in line.

The coupon code didn't work for me booking out of Fort Lauderdale airport in April.
There are hundreds of codes though - just do a google search for budget discount codes (make sure you are eligible - some are membership or resident codes that require identification), play around with them, use both a coupon code and BCD code and you are bound to get a good deal. Go on airline sites - many of them have discount codes as well. I know Delta and Westjet do if you are past flyers.

Can you please explain how the fastbreak work with budget. Is it similar to National where they have a line of cars that you just pick one and drive away ?
Thanks

Not quite the same - you bypass the counter in the airport and go to the kiosk out in the parking garage. They will already have an assigned car ready for you. The three times we have used them, I only have had one person in front of me. At most it took me 10 minutes total.

The BCD code of X474200 worked today when I tried it but the coupon code (U30550) for $25 off did not - it said this is an invalid coupon code. I had initially used the westjet BCD and got a price for an intermediate car of $163 for a 3 day rental picking up at FLL and dropping off at MIA. Used this BCD and got a minivan for $180 (the Westjet code came up with a rate of $300 for the minivan). Think I'll go with that since there will be 5 adult-sized people, as well as the luggage.

Just an update on the Budget X474200 code as we are currently still in Florida. We had no problem at all with this code when we picked up our minivan off site in Boca Raton, FL a week ago. We were given a 2013 Chrysler Town & Country fully loaded. We had brought our own GPS but didn't need it because there is one built in so no extra charge. It fits all four of our large suitcases as well as all our carry-ons and more. We couldn't be more pleased with it!

Nope, that one doesn't work for us either - Your coupon MUWZ023 cannot be used in the reservation due to the following reasons:
- Minimum rental of 5 days required. - Saturday night overstay required. . Oh well, I did use the BCD X474200 and got a great rate so I'm happy

Thanks guys!!
We just booked with Budget using the codes and saved ourselves $200 vs. our rez with National!!! ![]() DH is a little concerned with the fine print on the confirmation though.......it basically says you have to show some kind of proof of affiliation for the codes (?) or you end up being charged full price of $1200 ![]() Has anyone had to do this with these codes?? ETA; we used these ones: X474200 and MUWZ023

We did not have a problem when using X474200 and coupon code MUWZ023 on our recent trip (December 23 to 30). The rate and eligibility for coupons/codes was never mentioned.
I will say we were less than impressed with the vehicle we were given. We were assigned a Ford Edge with over 35,000 miles on it. Someone had most definitely smoked inside it at some point, and there was a hideous airfreshener or something trying to cover up the smell. The vehicle itself had multiple scratches and marks on the exterior. And every time we were inside that truck, our DS's allergies reared up. Badly. I was also less than impressed by Budget staff. Definitely could use some instruction on how to treat customers with a little more kindness. The drop-off staff would not even make eye contact, let alone speak.

I sure hope that isn't their regular way of operating.

That said, you only get one chance to make a first impression, and Budget blew it with this family. I know DH has repeatedly said (since picking up the stinky Edge) that he would rather pay more and get more, if the cost of the competitor is anywhere within our affordability range.
