So so SO excited!! I read this thread some months back and have been inspired for our Nov 26 - Dec 2 trip!
Went to Dollar Tree today and bought: Red Disney Christmas themed wrapping paper to "wrap" our door Green ribbon and a BIG green bow to tie up the door like a present Christmas tree/jinglebells doorknob hanger Four Christmas cups in a pack (we are always trying to make due with the little room supplied cups and these just make so much more sense, plus, festive!). On a whim I grabbed some 10hr led "candles" (silver stars) AND they had extension cords as well! I scored at Arc and found three boxes of combination (large) color lights *and* icicle lights for a steal. Still need to buy a set of 40 command hooks to hang the lights all over the room, as well as magnetic tape for the door. Oh, also, found small trees for under $20 that we are deciding between (smaller and fiberoptics? or bigger and colored lights?). Thinking about making some pomanders and bringing those to make the room smell lovely too! We are going to bring just the tree, and let the items we inevitably purchase while there be the decoration around/on the tree itself. Also, I wanted to make our outside decorations interactive ... so I came up with this ! A santa bucket filled with bells hanging outside the door, and a sign that says: Do you believe in Santa? In the magic of Christmas time? As only true believers can hear these bells chime. The spirit of Christmas surely will grow. So spread the sounds of the season to everyone you know. Please enjoy a bell. --- At 16 bells for $1, I can easily bring over 100 bells with me! I love the idea of being part of someone else's magic on their holiday. Looking forward to hearing more about all of your decoration plans! |

I just returned from POFQ a few days ago and had a great time decorating our windows, the command strips with hooks worked great on the windows and left no marks, we use them for the lights instead of suction cups. Our windows were the talk of the walkway, it was cool to be walking behind other guests and hear their comments esp from the children! And it sure did make it easier to find our room at night , it was like a beacon of light leading us to our beds after our very long days at the park

Everyone keeps talking about command strips. I'm a bit scared of them. I'm planning to hang up a felt tree for my kids to decorate, but I don't want to ruin the wall with a command strip mishap. Do I need to worry?

The whole point of Command strips is that they don't leave marks on or damage walls.

Thanks so much. I've heard some horror stories, but I've tried them at home with success. I have a giant felt tree to hang up that my kids can decorate with felt decorations.
http://www.etsy.com/listing/11278145...earch_type=all I'm so excited about it. We are staying at Kidani. I'm going to look for some window clings and we have a string of lights in our Owner's Locker. I may also be able to hang the tree on our door frames as they are metal. Not sure how dh will feel about the command strips. Love this thread. Merry Christmas! |
