New Cruiser - check in question

Good morning everyone,

We are first time cruisers leaving February 2013. Our check in date is right after thanksgiving. My question is, what time can I do this online and is that when I can book our port excursions? Also, do we pay the excursions in full or is it just a deposit?

You can begin booking excursions at 12:01 am eastern time on your check in day (your cruise
must be paid in full). Excursions will be billed to your onboard account when you are on the ship, no deposit required.
You have until 3 days before you set sail to cancel without penalty. Online check in is supposed to begin at 3:00am eastern (though it doesnt always seem to work!).

Thanks, I wasn't sure if I could book excursions & check on at the same time. One more question, since we will be staying at port Orleans prior to the cruise and taking the Disney cruise line bus to the port, does it really matter what time I check in?

Do you mean checkin at the port? Or the online checkin?

If you are using DCL transfers, your Port Arrival Time (which you select when you do the online checkin) is moot. You will enter the terminal whenever the bus gets there. You will still need to to select a PAT in order to complete your online checkin.

Yes, I did mean online checkin. Thank you, I did think my time didn't matter since we would be arriving by Disney transportation
