The dream christmas cruise dec 2-6 2012

SInce this is my first time to do FE gifts my question is this. DO you have a specific day that you go around the ship and deliver gifts. Just wondering. I feel like putting a Santa suit on to do this....lol just kidding....too hot

I have been wondering the same thing. My wife would hide for the rest of the cruise, not that I have a real pirate outfit. Did that for too many years.

People do many different things....all the way from dressing up in full costumes, some even look like the "real" thing....it's amazing. Some wear pirate t-shirts, the bandana that is given to you or some do nothing at all....so it is all up to whatever makes you say "Arrrrrgh" !!!!

You can do it whenever you like. Just depends on what activities you have going on and when you have time. My hubby and I split ours in half (we had 80 staterooms)! and were in the halls at 2am....along with our son & daughter in law....trying to be quiet...so it is alot like being santa!!!

I am a former cast member and crew, having a little mini reunion with 2 other crew members. Still getting used to the idea of cruising as a guest.

I sent a message for the FE but since I have never done this can someone give me an idea of what gifts usually are given. And are we assigned a cabin or do we give it to everyone on the list?

Looking forward to the trip. We are doing the parks before and after and are staying that the new Animation Hotel (Nemo Suite)

Typically when there is a small group such as this you give one gift, once during the cruise. You can choose to give a gift for each person in the stateroom or you can make one gift for sharing. We had both given to us. You can actually google FE gifts and you can see pictures of what people have been given. It doesn't have to be big $$.....some people get creative and make things..sew..bags of treats, items from where they are from, we had some FE friends from Alaska and they brought seafood recipes! It is just the fun of giving and then getting back to your room to find a "surprise". It is fun and amazing what people come up with!

HERE IS OUR PHOTO FROM THE MEMBER CRUISE 2 MONTHS AGO. WE DRESS UP BEFORE THE FIRST SHOW AND SIT IN THE THEATRE TO WATCH THE SHOW THEN WANDER AROUND AND DOWN TO DINNER. HOPEFULLY ALL 7 OF US WILL BE DRESSED UP ON THIS CRUISEIM NOT GOING TO BE WEARING THAT PHONEY BEARD IVE BEEN GROWING A GOATEE JUST FOR THE CRUISE

I've seen where since it's a cruise so close to Christmas that some people are just using stockings for their FE. Since it's just your husband and yourself, that may be a great solution to the cost of making an FE...and easy to personalize too.

As far as the actual FE gifts, you can be as creative as you like. It doesn't have to cost a lot of money. If you're crafty, make something. If not, look at the dollar store. There are all sorts of Disney items, lotions, journals, photo albums/frames that you could use. You could put together your favorite holiday recipes from the region you live in. There are so many possibilities...don't feel it's a financial responsibility (after all, this is vacation...NO ADDED STRESSORS ALLOWED)!!!

I actually called DCL and asked them specificallly for our cruise and they said YES!! I am excited..never seen the cruise ships decorated for Christmas before!

THIS WILL BE OUR 3rd CHRISTMAS DCL CRUISE. 2ND ON THE DREAM. ITS MOsTLY THE ATRUIM THAT IS DECORATED. THERE IS USUALLY A GINGERBREAD HOUSE AND LIGHTS AND GARLAND AND A TALL TREE. SOME FAMILIES PREPARE AND COME WITH GROUP OUTFITS FOR A CHRISTMAS SHOT FOR FAMILY CHRISTMAS CARDS ETC. JUST SO YOU KNOW ITS $20 A PHOTO FOR 8 X 10s OR YOU CAN BUY A PACKAGE DEAL WHERE YOU SAVE A LITTLE BIT. THE SYSTEM FOR GETTING YOUR PHOTOS IS A LOT BETTER THAN THE OLD WAY. ITS ALL DONE ON A COMPUTOR KIOSK. EVERY CABIN IS ALSO GIVEN A FILE NUMBER. YOU JUST GO LOOK IN YOUR FILE AND YOU SHOULD SEE COPIES OF THE PHOTOS THEY TOOK OF YOU. THEN YOU PURCHASE THEM. THEY STILL HANG MANY UP ON THE WALL HOLDERS BY EVENT. ITS LIKE A PHOTO LIBRARY OVERLOOKING THE ATRIUM.
