Christmas Decorations???!!!!

We will be going on our first Disney Cruise Nov. 25th -- this is the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I have received conflicting reports about the ship & Castaway CAy being decorated for the Holidays??? Does anyone know if we should expect to see trees?? I didn't even think of this when booking however, it thrills me to think it will be! This makes our trip even more exciting!! I love the holidays & I love Disney....so nothing could be better than both together!!

The ships and terminal are actually decorated a bit before that. CC is decorated the day after Thanksgiving.

The Magic was decorated for Christmas on our Thanksgiving cruise in 2008. We had two stops at CC, the first one there were no decorations on the island, the second it was completely decked out.

When do the decorations come down? We sail on jan 6, so they will probably be down, right?

The decorations go up before the Thanksgiving cruise. They come down at the end of the New Years cruise. The little elves work late into the night to make the ship look pristine for the first embarkation in January.

Thanks!! I'm so happy to hear that!

I have a question now for experienced cruisers....Again, we are going the last week in Nov. so should we pack shorts/summer type clothes or fall like? I am not sure if I should be planning short sleeves for my lil'guy or long?!
Thanks!!

You should pack summer type clothing with a jacket or sweater for on deck at night. AND you should pack one set of warm clothing for each person--like what you would wear in 50 degree weather. How do I know this? My credit card took a HUGE hit the time I had to buy warm clothing at Disney prices. I actually froze for 3 days before I gave in and bought some for myself. Normally it will stay in your suitcase and just take up space, but on those occasions when you need it, you're thankful to have it.

YES! You will see the ship, the terminal and CC all decorated. It's beautiful. We did this same cruise in 2010 and on the first night, there is an official tree lighting in the Atrium. We got there about 20 mintues early and DS was asked to be the "Prince of the High Seas" who actually "lit" the lights on the tree. It was a great way to start our cruise!

Pack for ALL different weather. We cruise the week after Thanksgiving in 2010 and the first week in December in 2008. We had some nice warm days, but the majority of the days (both times) were overcast and very windy. I wore capris instead of shorts, and definitely a sweatshirt/sweater. DS wore shorts (but then again, he is wearing them now in 45 degree weather). We did a Western in 2010 and the best day we had was in Grand Cayman. That was mid 80s and sunny. The rest of the days, the sun was in/out and very windy on deck or at the pool. Our day at CC had some sun, but still windy which made it chilly to be in the water or out at Pelican Plunge.

Plan for all kinds of weather, but regardless, you will have a great time.

They do an "official" tree lighting each cruise once the tree is up on the first night.
