Visa has discount codes for Alamo and National that go through 2/28/13.

The Entertainment book (2013 version and on-line) has these codes as well.
I got 5% + $25 off with Alamo.
I booked a mid-size SUV for 9 days for $330 (all taxes and fees).
Things are still coming down so I'll probably end up rebooking.

I just used visa code AD2338FDF for Alamo and received the $30 off for a Jan/Feb rental. Full size $195 all inclusive for 1/26-2/4. Still hoping for an SUV but this is at least in the price range I'm looking for!

[also used my insiders ID]

I think the correct Visa $30 coupon code is AD2338FDF.

I searched on priceline today for a rental car from Jan 3-9 and Avis and Budget came up $179 for standard size....best price I was finding was $300 ish... Alamo and National are still $550 plus.

I did not use any coupon codes or any discounts.
I reserved it thru priceline, did not have to pay upfront.

Might be worth checking there if your still looking.

I found a National e-coupon for $20 off a 3-5 day car rental good until February 3rd. The coupon code is ND3156ZDW.

Soontobewed07, I booked a minivan for 10 days for $316 inclusive with Alamo via the Costco website. That's $199/wk, which you probably won't beat. You might want to check it ou.

Try Budget using x474200 (travelocity code) and E-Coupon MUPZ044 for $40 off. Total for a week is $262 inc taxes after e-coupon is applied when return vehicle.
