Avoiding the "boom boom" rooms (Dream VGT)

Hello everyone!

We are looking to book a VGT room on the December 13 cruise this year. We understand the risks, and are OK with a whitewall, navigator's verandah, smaller room, or something close to an elevator, etc. I assume the lower decks look out over the life boats, which would be OK too.

The only thing we really want to avoid is noise and vibration. How likely is it that a VGT Dream room would be over one of the dance clubs, or at the back of the ship where we'd feel vibration?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. If anyone knows whether our sail date (December 13) is a slow season or already busy because of Christmas, that would be very helpful to know as well, since it would affect our choices. I should also mention that we are two adults, so we're not expecting to be put in one of the larger family rooms on a higher deck (although we did pay for an 04B on Deck 8 when we sailed on the Dream last time - our first cruise, where we didn't know what to expect).

Thank you for any feedback!

Since you've been on the Dream, you know that the clubs are at the back of the ship. You are really only trying to avoid one area, and if you are on anything other than deck 5, there shouldn't be a noise issue from these. The only time we had vibration noise issues was while the ship was docking--that's a very few minutes in the length of a cruise.

Dec. 13 will be low season--the holiday rush hasn't started yet as most kids aren't out of school that soon.

Based on reports, the *GTs are not getting the "least desirable" rooms. There have been may reports of people being placed in cat 4s. Good luck.

The rooms over the nightclub are on deck 5......with the exception of the 4Es, the verandahs on Deck 5 are the cheaper verandah rooms which usually sell out quicker than the more expensive verandah rooms....your chances of avoiding them are pretty good.

Okay, well when you said "boom boom" rooms, I completely thought of something else. Thanks for the laugh!
