Another hockey mom of dd's , and a D's. dd14 is on a 14u travel team. Ds3 is bantam travel and dd10 is on an 11u team. While I enjoy it, it really is more hockey than I care for. Too busy for me.

I forgot to mention that not only does my son play but my DH does too. He plays at least twice a week. He is like a big kid. The best part about his games- they don't really interfere w/ family time. He usually plays really late and early Sunday mornings.
Does anybody else have a DH that plays too? Or a hockey dad that plays?

My 2 daughters and my 6 year old son play.
I feel like we live at the rink but its been great. All 3 started playing when there were 4 years old and they all started skating between 2 and 3. My son isn't into sports but has been trying out hockey for almost 3 years now. He really doesn't have a sports drive yet and can't seem to stay focused long enough to do well, even though he can skate fast and well enough for his age. He gets on the ice 3 times a week (cross ice game, full ice game, practice). I hope he gets it soon! My 10 year old is a 1st year peewee and plays for one of our town peewee teams and she plays defense. She also plays on a U12 club girls team, where she plays a forward. She also fills in on our town U12 and U14 team. My 9 year old is a 1st year squirt and plays for one of our towns squirt teams, she also plays on a U10 club girls team. She plays forward for both teams. She also fills in our town U12 team. My girls are lucky in that they get so much ice that they actually don't go to all they can. They get on the ice between 5-11 hours a week depending on the week and their other commitments. Its crazy but they have been doing it so long now its just the way it is and we love it!

You guys are sure committed. Rising at the crack of dawn and late games, driving, driving, driving...I'd be a goner. These are the days many memories are made. Kudos to you all.

We played two games today - a tie and a loss 3-2. The teams were very evenly matched, and my kids played well. But boy were they tired at the end of the second game!
I sewed the girls' nameplates on their jerseys, and since I was sewing them on a hanger that held both jerseys, yes, I sewed them together.

My 9 year old DD lost 3-0 today in her U10 club game(1 was an empty netter). I didn't go, but I get the feeling they were pretty tired. They had 1.5 hour practice this morning for the same team at 7:30. Then my DD went and played a soccer game before the actual hockey game.
My 10 year old DD had a 2 hour practice for her U12 club team from 7-9. She then went to a playoff soccer game and lost 4-3. She then went and played for her town U12 team and they won ( I think 4-3). She did well. We have a 2 town hockey games tomorrow(ds, 9DD), 1 club hockey game(10 DD) and 2 club soccer games tomorrow(both daughters, different teams). Hopefully they get some wins!

I am so lazy I used to bring them to the cleaners and pay them to sew the nameplates. Now I'm even more lazy, I don't even bother with name plates. And I already own a nameplate for each kid! They only have nameplates for teams where their team was sponsored or we had to buy the shirts, so the names were already put on them!

I'm a french Canadian, so it's a no-brainer here.
I'm the mom of a 5 years old MAGS player. My son started this year, so it's still new to me. It's a little hard, because DH and I both work opposites weekend, so we end up going to the rink alone with the 3 kids. My son is actualy pretty good (well, at least he knows how to skate, that's already better than the majority of the team!) and I think he'll play defense, because he skates very fast and can skate backward (he did a year of figure skating and done gymnastics too). He wants to be a goaler, but I don't have the budget for this! So I hope his coaches will want him somewhere else.

I'm typing this from my hotel room in Ludington, MI as our Bantam House B player sleeps in the other bed. He had a game in Big Rapids today and another one here tomorrow. He started in "learn to play", became a goalie and moved to House, and then played as a Travel goalie for three years. After that he got tired of being chained to a net and moved down to House B where he can rotate in and out of net.
Our college freshman played House, JV, HS Varsity, and after tiring of all the garbage and less than nice teammates, played Midget House B his last year of HS. And lastly, this year we're a billet family for a great kid playing Junior hockey for the local team.
