Given the location, I wouldn't expect a quality much above a mediocre chain no matter what anyone told me. Unless of course I knew they had an understanding of what makes a great steak.

And with all of this wisdom, no review of your meal/s at Le Cellier?

The "nacho cheese" poutine served at lunch. Were they to ever serve the dish from a cart outside, you KNOW that it would not have real cheese curd. It would be "squirt cheese" for sure.

We also did LC for the first time this week, and were very underwhelmed. Part of it was that we figured out 3/4 of the way through the meal that they swapped my husband and I's steak. I thought mine was overcooked and just sucked it up His was better though!

The soup is delicious, but half way through it started to get overwhelming. The poutine was delicious though, as was the pretzel sticks. It's worth another shot I think!

The dinner poutine is good! Lunch is cheese fries. It's not poutine no matter what they call it.

I'm guessing they are going to go to one all-day menu next year when lunch goes 2 credits, so maybe the dinner poutine will be it.

you can find Poutine in Canada pretty much anywhere. even street vendors. its actually pretty good when made properly. if you like gravy, fries, and cheese you will like poutine! its yummy.

I dont recall saying that I ordered the steak medium well instead of medium but that is correct, I did. Either way, I didnt order the steak medium well and expect it to be medium. I expected it to be medium well but it was actually well done and burnt around the edges. This wasnt the major issue though. The flavoring of the steak was just not good. It had no flavor at all. The only flavor was the mushrooms on top of it. Basically it just wasnt anywhere close to amazing. Maybe my expectations were too high. I dont know. It was described to me as being tender enough to cut with a fork and so salty and buttery you can barely stand it. It was neither. I also had it at the food and wine booth and it was not great there either. I read all kinds of rave reviews for the filet and I was just curious as to whether I got it on an off day or if its just really not that great. I didnt like the pretzel bread either and that is also a fan favorite. Both the filet and bread seemed to me to be an unusual taste and I find it hard to believe that so many ppl like both so much. But hey, maybe I am just a little different. I didnt care much for Ohana either.

sounds like you and i have similar taste. LC and Ohana are both wildly popular yet I didn't like either place. Go figure. lol. The fact that you tried the steak twice in one trip and didn't care for either says a lot.

Yeah, I wasnt impressed with Ohana. I could take it or leave it. If I didnt have a reservation to fill one of my nights I might do Ohana again but thats about it. I actually loved Sci-Fi and that is not a Disboards favorite. Garden Grill was also very good to me. I loved the bread and salad.

ya I honestly dont think I would try ohana again. Not gonna waste my time.
About SciFi, we absolutely love it there! we go quite often and never had a bad meal.

Yeah, I guess poutine's kind of an acquired taste. Maybe an indoor CS in the Canada pavilion, if they were to open one,might have a better chance of selling proper poutine than a cart would.

We get this dish every yr so Im really suprised, our filet are always cooked to perfection, can alomost slice with a fork! Risotto is suppose to be a bit firmer than regular rice, which risoto is my fave, I make it here at home!

That being said, did you let your wait staff know that the steak was over cooked, they would have brought you another one no prob, never just let it go there is no way they will know something is wrong if you dont let them know.
