Sonnys Barbecue in Cocoa..

.right into Cocoa in the Publix shopping center...went there in August the night before our cruise- they offered a family style plate which was delicious and the price was right....

hands down the best Rock Shrimp and seafood meal we have had in a Loooooong time was at the Florida's Seafood Bar and Grill. It's a big family style loud casual retaurant. They have rock shrimp by the dozem with different flavors. (2 dozen for $10.99, I think I had cajun garlic butter!!). We still talk about this restaurant to this day. It was inexpensive, festive and a perfect place to spend an evening before we cruised.

you can find them online to see the menu! Florida's Seafood Bar and grill.

Just wanted to update this... we ate at Grills a couple of weeks back.

It was very good! So nice to sit out on the deck and watch the boats pass by. The food was very reasonably priced as was the beer. We will be back to them again!

This is a few weeks old and I don't know if you're still looking for a place but Rubio's Cuban Cafe has one of the best Cuban sandwiches and best Cuban coffee I've ever had. It's a little hole in the wall place in a strip center, inexpensive and GOOD!

It also happens to be next door to the Dreams Unlimited/DISboards Welcome Center. You can stop in and say hello to the people that run this site.

We enjoy eating at the Cocoa Beach pier and looking out at the ocean. Boardwalk (there are a few different restuarants on the pier) has outdoor seating, which I enjoy. Very, very uber casual here.

If your looking for seafood with a good view of the water I would recommend Grills. My husband and I love to sit outside and enjoy the view. We also love their food. They have a marinade for Mahi that is wonderful.

Someone else recommended Kelsey's. That is my husband's favorite restaurant in town. It does not have a view, but it does have great pizza and a wonderful staff.

Fishlips is our favorite. You can sit outside and watch the cruise ships going out to sea.

I'd second the suggestion of Florida Seafood bar & Grill. The food is great, and the service is good. I'm from cocoa beach originally and any time we are within an hour of that place we go. Sometimes we run over there from WDW *just* to eat there. It's often crowded but they do take reservations for groups of 6 or more, and even if you don't have a reservation the wait is not that long. They have a balloon artist making baloons for the kid on Friday and Saturday.

They have a great selection, from oysters on the half shell, to crab legs, fried shrimp, and a nice selection of non-seafood (my dh, who was born and raised in cocoa beach, does NOT eat seafood and would reccomend the Cajun chicken Coup). They also serve the best grilled shrimp (jumbo, canaveral whites, etc) that I have ever had.

Man, now I want some... won't be down until thanksgiving!
