Pepper Market breakfast from Pop?

Hi,

Will be staying at Pop in March with my two boys. We're on the SPD QS plan. We'll end up having extra credits due to our plans. Is it feasible to get to Pepper Market for their breakfast buffet and still make rope drop at one of the parks? If so, which park is closest?

How would we get to PM that early in the am?

The only reason I want to go there is my kids would be tickled pink to do a breakfast buffet where they could eat whatever they wanted. One could eat 10 pancakes and the other would eat 10 pieces of bacon and 10 pieces of sausage. LOL

If it's too much of a hassle we'll just eat somewhere else but figured the experts here would know if there was a way to do it!

I would only do this if you are driving.

The only way to get there is to drive or take a taxi.

AK and Studios are the closest parks to CSR.

The only way I could see you being able to eat here and still make rope drop would be to take the first bus to the park with morning EMH, bus to CSR, eat, and then take the bus to the park you want to visit (that is NOT the morning EMH park).

Once we figured out that we had extra counter service credits my kids were thrilled - they discovered the ham and cheese omelets in the food court and would order doubles!

Am I reading this right? Pepper market has a buffet breakfast for a quick service credit on DP? And it is all you can eat? Doesn't sound right but I am all for it!?

can someone confirm or deny this for me?

Hi
Have you considered the breakfast buffet at Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom? We really like the food choices they have and you'll be right in the park. Also, Chef Mickeys has a breakfast buffet at the Contemporary and that's pretty good. There's Tusker House at Animal Kingdom, and one at DHS. If you can get reservations, that might be easier than going to CSR and then going to the park, since you'll already be at the park. You could go into allearsnet.com and see the menus. Just go under dining, then menus. Have a great time!!

This

Personally its just too much of a hassle for a QS buffet. If it was a day that you didn't go to a park or didn't worry about rope drop I would say go for it, but this is kind of a time vs money thing. I know you said these are extra credits but is it worth getting up at 6-6:30 and paying for a cab just so your kids can eat unlimited pancakes.

If this was purely OOP I would spend the extra to eat at a buffet in a park. Much less travel.

Hi
You could be at a park at rope drop, enjoy a few rides, then go to the buffet breakfast. We usually will go to early entry, ride for about 2 hours, then go to breakfast about 10-10:30. I usually give my DGD a cereal bar to hold her over till breakfast. You're going to have so much fun!!

just a note: the OP was talking about using up extra counter service credits...so the idea of doing park breakfast buffets will not work.

We've been to Pepper Market, and frankly, it was among the worst food we've had at Disney restaurants: looks good, but apparently they use the cheapest possible ingredients and prepare it all by school cafeteria recipes, because everything was really, really blah. Calling it "meh" would be a compliment too high. Totally would be a complete waste of time to try to get there for the breakfast. You will find better breakfasts at your resort counter service. That link to a good review is one of the few good reviews I've seen to date. Most are not glowing like that.

It could take you as long as 60-75 minutes to get from your resort to Pepper Market: you'll have to take a bus to a park or transportation & ticket center...and then get off there & wait for a bus to CSR. After eating, it's 20-40 minutes to get to the park, depending on your luck with busses.

If you really, really want to do this buffet, go by taxi. At least that way you will minimize the travel to the restaurant. Personally, I don't think it would be worth the time it would take, using busses, or the $$ for a taxi.

Just in case anyone sees this, there are no buses from resorts to the TTC so you would have to transfer at a resort or DTD.

We had breakfast buffet at CSR and travelled from Pop. BUT - we did it on a late morning kinda day. It took us a while to get there. We took the bus to Blizzard Beach, then hopped on the CSR bus. The CSR bus took a loooong while to get there - maybe the full 20 mins. Then we got off at the wrong stop at CSR. Got off at the 1st stop and had a very long walk across the resort. It was beautiful - but too long as my DH had hurt his foot the day before.

We got there about 10ish. The buffet itself was pretty good. We really did enjoy it - particularly for a QS credit. It was a decent selection - actually more options than I expected. There were 1 or 2 items I particularly enjoyed. I actually liked it more than Chef Mickey's breakfast buffet. Breakfast food is breakfast food I guess. For me, I don't eat mexican food often so the flavors were fun for me.

Afterwards, we explored the resort. Ended up taking the kids to play in the playground and the arcade. It's a beautiful place.

All in all, we enjoyed it and felt the trip was worth it. Mostly for the fun of exploring the resort.

I doubt I would do it and rush for RD - unless your family are super early birds. my family wakes up about 7-8am naturally so I really tried to avoid getting them up too early in the mornings and planned a lot of later mornings because they really liked not rushing.

Why don't you try the lunch buffet instead? It is a short ride from AK so that is what we did on our AK day and it was such a nice break from the park.
