Non-Resort Guest Transportation to Disney Restaurant
If a Guest wishes to dine at a resort restaurant (e.g., Wilderness Lodge) but is not a resort guest, will he be allowed to ride Disney transportation (e.g., boat) from the park (e.g., Magic Kingdom) to said location?
So far I'm under the impression that Disney transportation is limited to Resort guests, but is that really the case? |

Anyone can ride Disney transportation (monorails, buses, boats), not just resort guests.

I remember a time - like fifteen years ago - when to use the boats we did have to show our resort IDs. But my two recent trips to Disney World it definitely looked like anyone could ride them.

Many, many years ago, resort guests were issued a small, brown ID card that served as proof that they were staying at a resort, and the card had to be shown to gain access to the resort monorail route as well as buses. They did away with this requirement ages ago, as the mulit-day park pass served as proof of transportation eligibility. And then, even that requirement went by the wayside, and anyone can now use WDW transportation. No one checks any sort of card, pass, or any other proof of eligibility.

Disney considers everyone visiting the hotels, restaurants, parks and Downtown Disney as "resort guests"...the entire Disney property is "Disney World Resort".
There are some parts that are limited usage such as most of the pools at the hotels are limited to people staying at that hotel. But the transportation is provided for all Disney World guests. They would prefer that people park at the Transportation & Ticket Center, and then use the Disney transportation to the parks & hotels...that way, they can limit the traffic issues as well as the parking issues at the hotels.
