Is 3:30 considered lunch or dinner?

Hi everyone!

My boyfriend and I just reserved spots with the Candlelight Processional for Nov. 29 (Neil Patrick Harris, woo!) 6:45 p.m. show.

Our dining reservation is at Biergarten at 3:30 p.m. Is that considered lunch or dinner? It's not really important in the grand scheme of things; we're just wondering if we'll get the lunch or the dinner buffet menu.

Thank you!

It depends on the restaurant, but for Biergarten it's dinner.

You can find out the meal times on the restaurants webpage. Select the date you are interested in and then make an ADR. Even if there is no availability, the next page will specify the hours for each meal. I think you can get this info without trying to make an ADR as well.

According to the Disney page, Biergarten starts dinner at 4:00 pm.

Do they clear out the place before dinner? Do you only get a half hour to eat if you have a 3:30 ADR?

No, you will not notice any difference... other than the menu you order from, or the foods they put out on the buffet, and the price that you pay.

3:30 at the Biergarten is lunch. Our last trip in February, we had two 4:15 ADR's at the Biergarten because we like to eat early. Both times they us that they were switching from lunch to dinner so was is a little delay in seating us at that time - only about 15 minutes. If you are already in, then you can stay. I believe they only make minor changes from lunch to the dinner service so I would go for that time if it is what you want. And at 3:30, you can always check out what the changes are and grab anything else when they change things out. The only changes I remember are that rouladen and dumplings were at dinner, but not at lunch. They had some "German meatloaf" for dinner at the carving station which was pretty bad and most people left on their plates - it was more like a ham loaf. But overall, we LOVE the Biergarten.

The

buffet is similar. It's a little cheaper for lunch. (May not be the case with CP.) Sauerbraten is the one item added for dinner that I really like.

Do you pay when you arrive or when you leave? If you have a 3:30 adr and leave at 4:30 do you pay for lunch or dinner?

You pay by when you arrive. We ate at crystal palace on Christmas Eve, arrived at 230 (dinner is at 3 there), paid lunch, but my hubby was able top get a plate of steamed shrimp after 3 when they switched to dinner.

Since you did the Candlelight processional package, they will have it all set for you. Not sure for there, but sometimes the packages have a different menu or special requirements. Since they see a buffet this should not matter, but when you make your ADR it should all be spelled out for you.

It depends on the restaurant. If you go to the Disney website, you will find the lunch & dinner times there.

They charge you for lunch if your reservation time fell during lunch hours. If dinner starts at 4pm (lets say a buffet) and your ADR was at 3:15pm....lets say you didnt leave the restaurant til 430pm. They wont charge you for dinner. It will be lunch.

But every restaurant is different with their switch over from lunch to dinner time. Some restaurants have their lunch end at 230pm. I would check the disney site.

Ok. Thanks. I was thinking of Biergarten. They start dinner at 4:00.
My ADR is at 3:00, no DPP, cc hasn't been charged. I heard you often still have to wait to be seated even if you arrive on time for your ADR. If they gave me my check at the end of the meal like al la carte places, it would be dinner time sure.

Glad to hear that you pay on entry, I've only budgeted for lunch and I'm hoping the holiday up-charge ends on New Year's Day.
