I have been watching the Weather channel throughout the night and they briefly mentioned the damage that Bahama's suffered from this storm. It appears that Sandy took the lives of 40 people in Nassau. How tragic!

They are reporting 43 deaths across the Caribean.

Doesn't even mention Nassau.

As anyone should know, news reports vary from venue to venue and often are updated with new information or could be based on erroneous information from the scene.

What OP posted may have been what was reported at the time that they posted. They then passed that on in good faith because they felt it was something folks here might be concerned about.

The lesson here? Don't believe anything the news tells you.
