Bahamas cruise in July?
I am new to DCL but NOT new to WDW. We booked a late July 4 night Bahamas cruise. I am so worried about bad weather and not being able to get to Castaway Cay or the Atlantis excursion. Should I wait until my son is done with high school and go a different month or should I roll the dice. Who has had great luck with the weather in July or August? Thanks

With the weather, you just never know. However, we were on the Dream from July 5 - 10, 2011 with a double dip at Castaway Cay and had perfect weather. We only cruise during school vacations, so we will always be rolling the dice with the weather. My feeling is that even if you have to detour around a storm, you are still on vacation on a great ship.

There is no way to predict weather. As above, the captain will not take the ship anywhere near a storm. We've been on several cruises where we didn't go to our scheduled ports, but they were great cruises. Guess it depends on your perspective.

We've been on 9 DCL cruises all in July and we've never had bad weather or missed Castaway Cay.
