When to visit if wanting least crowded yet christmasy - The DIS Discussion Forums

My DH and I are planning another Universal trip in Nov. to Dec. most likely after the new HP expansion is up.

I'm debating which month to aim for though. When is the least crowded and most beautifully decorated for the holidays?

I'd go with first week of December.

I am not aware of a completion date for the HP expansion, so I wouldn't assume that'll be in time for Christmas 2013, if you are.

Nothing will be finished on HP2 until sometime in 2013 or 2014. But...early December has light crowds and the weather is usually very nice.

and I imagine once HP2 is done, it will throw off park crowds for awhile too

I'd plan for early December 2014 at the very earliest.

Oh you know it! I can't begin to imagine how crowded the Studios will be once HP2 is open!

I was there last year the last week of November and first week of December. It was perfect, the first weekend in December Christmas was up and running at the parks. I will be returning this year the same two weeks.

I am on pins and needles about HP2.

November 28 - December 7, 2012 return trip.
