MK Castle ceremony.. Has anybody done it?

Me and my fiance would love to get married if front of Disney castle in MK. However, our disney planner told us that MK releases available dates only 6 months in advance. We are preliminary booking WP but really hope to switch. Did anybody do this kind of ceremony? Any idea of favorable dates? We have 11/08/13 as of now..

I believe I remember reading in my packet of info that my planner sent me, that MK castle ceremonies start at $28,000. It is also limited to, I think, 50 guests. And available only for morning ceremonies.

That's the only info I can recall on that. Hope it helps!

there are a few brides that are planning/have had their ceremonies in MK. have a look in the planning journals section. one of the brides is called michelle and had a beautiful vow renewal there!

the MK ceremonies take place on the swan boat landing, down to the right of the castle. the fee is $10,000, that is not included in the wishes $12,000 minimum [as far as i'm aware]
the $10k package includes the ceremony for up to 50 guests [inc bride and groom], chiavari chairs, a string quartet and transport for your guests up mainstreet.
the ceremony is usually at 8am, before the park opens. it can be very hard to get a date [think it is confirmed around 4-6 months out] as it has to be cleared with disney that nothing else will be going on in the park that morning.

this is all from memory and may not be exactly correct!

i'm not sure about favourable dates, but i know that sometimes in the summer months Magic Kingdom can open at 8am, which probably means there won't be a ceremony on these days!

They $10k counts towards meeting your minimum but there is a requirement that you have to add a catered reception on to it.

Dreaming of a MK ceremony too.
Does anyone know the minimum guest numbers for it?
Presumed it was 20 because of its minimums are classed as wishes minimums but found one planning journal on here where it looked like they had less than 20 guests.

There are no guest minimums listed for an MK ceremony. Recently they have been saying you have to have a minimum of 20 guests to have a Wishes event because they think it's hard for smaller groups to meet the food and beverage minimums required, but I wouldn't let that discourage you.

I had a MK ceremony!! Check out my PJ... The ceremony site fee alone was $10,000 that counted towards the minimum which for me at that time was $10,000.. any questions let me know! I posted some pictures on there but not all because i have over 4,000 photos!

I read your PJ and it was me who contacted you yesterday for some more info lol. What I was wondering here was because its classed as a wishes wedding I thought there had to be at least 20 guests but read that you had less than that, is that correct? What did DTFW tell you regarding guest numbers? Is there a minimum number of guests needed for an MK ceremony?

hey! i did have a wishes wedding.. when i was planning i did not have any restrictions on guest count for my MK ceremony.. they on only required me to spend $10,000 or more.. i did not get any slack with a small guest count because i spent way more than the minimum expenditure.. the only thing that kinda sucked was that they charged a small party fee of $50 since it was less than 20 people but to me that was a small price to pay.. i had 18 guests.. i added u on facebook! looking forward to hearing about more MK ceremonies!

Thanks for replies!

It looks like fall is no-no for Castle wedding. Nov and Dec will be blocked out for MK photoshoot as well.. So we are moving the wedding to Jan or Feb 2014.. I hope we will have more luck with winter months.

Originally we liked the thought of having it in November but changed our mind because of blacked out periods too. We are now hoping for Feb 2014 as well. Hope you didn't mind me jumping on your thread with my own questions about a MK Ceremony.
