20 Penny Circus was 30 minutes of my life that I will never get back. Not quite as unwatchable as the gross out performers they've had at the Beetlejuice location in prior years but pretty close. The female lead was too over-the-top to be entertaining and frankly, most of their "illusions" were pretty easy to figure out. I'd rather they create something more like last year's Death Drums than put another awful 3rd party show in that theatre. At least Death Drums was entertaining and had some talented performers.

Three family members and I bought the Undercover Tourist Universal Studios 2 day/2 park with unlimited HHN combo ticket for select nights a few months before going to USF on Thursday/Friday Oct. 4 and 5. On Thursday, Oct. 4 the ticket scanned fine for both the parks and HHN event. We used it in the Stay and Scream area with no problem. The next day, Friday, Oct 5, the ticket scanned again fine for both IOA and USF. We had a reservation at Finnegans that night which is in the Stay and Scream area for HHN. They were scanning HHN tickets in the restaurant. Our tickets this time had a problem being scanned. They asked us, if we used them before, which we had on Thursday evening. We mentioned that they were unlimited access for specific nights for HHN. They called over a supervisor and asked for the tickets. Anyway, the issue finally got resolved after 30 minutes. Good thing, our reservation at Finnegans was at 4:15 PM that night. We were able to get this resolved before the Stay and Scream crowd was released at 5:45 PM. I called Undercover tourist about this issue, and they said that the ticket for HHN was only for one day, not multiple days. I also noticed that their website now lists the combo ticket (USF 2 day/2 park with HHN combo) for only one day use. Has anyone else had this happen to them recently? Thursday, the rain was relentless after 6:30 PM, but one was able to do all the HHN houses within a couple of hours. Of course, no scare actors were roaming the streets. Friday, was much better, with not much rain during the evening. I did notice that the scare actors, seemed to be in certain zones with the fog. So, yes, there were safe zones. Plenty of them...

I'm doubtful UT was selling tickets that included unlimited visits to HHN...it would be too expensive to do that. You can't buy an unlimited HHN ticket direct through Universal. You'd have to purchase the Rush of Fear (first ten days) and Frequent Fear Plus passes (all other dates except Saturdays) and pay for Saturday nights separately in order to go every night. You're talking in the neighborhood of $353.00 plus tax for all those tickets. I'm guessing they got the terminology wrong on the website and if the 2/2 day ticket w/HHN was under $200.00, there should have been no mistake it was good for only one night at HHN.

Saw 20 Penny Sunday night, and enjoyed it. A somewhat racy magic show with audience volunteers, and well done. Included adult innuendo, if you know what I mean, but we had a twelve year old along and it was nothing embarrassing or outright. Interesting grand finale . . .

UT tickets

This was also on Undercovertourist website when I purchased the ticket. A phone call to UT probably would have clarified this. got email from Undercovertourist (never an issue dealing with themand a decent refund policy to boot) as to 'a deal' on U tix and HHN. It says it saves up to $60...off exactly 'what' i have no idea since the dates are slightly different from the dates for standard FF & ROF i.e. some fridays are included but dates for HHN are restricted to a 14 day period from 1st usage (if i'm reading the fine print correctly, i'd call UT to confirm before I purchased jik!!!): FF Sept. 21, 22, 27, 30 Oct. 4, 7, 11, 14, 17, 18, 21, 24, 25, 28, 31 ROF Sept. 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, 30 Oct. 4, 5, 6, 7. UT tix Sept 21, 27, 28, 30 Oct 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 14, 17, 18, 19, 21, 24, 25, 26, 28 or 31 Doesn't work out for our touring needs but for those who are still looking to buy multi-day tix and visit HHN on select nights during their stay it might be worth pricing it out if only for convenience factor...note i am not saying it's the best deal, just posting as another option. Two day tix option = $179.95 Three day option $185.95, all taxes and S&H is included The 2 or 3-Day Park to Park with Halloween Horror Nights Combo Ticket entitles one (1) guest admission (even on the same day) to: Universal Studios Florida® Islands of Adventure® Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights (22) ("HHN") Ticket is valid for the theme parks for any two (2) or three(3) calendar days during a fourteen (14) consecutive day period which includes the first day the non-event portion of the ticket is used. This ticket also includes unlimited admission to HHN during the following 2012 Event Dates which fall within the fourteen (14) consecutive day period: September 21, 27, 28, 30 October 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 14, 17, 18, 19, 21, 24, 25, 26, 28 or 31. NOT valid for any Saturday HHN Events Dates: September 22, 29, October 6, 13, 20 or 27. The HHN Event begins at 6:30pm and closing times may vary. Key Points: WARNING! Event may be too intense for young children and is not recommended for children under the age of 13. No costumes or masks allowed. This ticket includes daily admission to the paid entertainment venues of Universal CityWalk ("CityWalk") during the fourteen (14) consecutive day period. The above Admission media is non-refundable, non-transferable, and valid only during normal operating hours. This ticket allows the guest to visit both parks on the same day. Visiting one or both parks on the same day is considered a single day's use of the ticket. The HHN Event portion of this ticket expires in 2012. If there is no 2012 HHN event usage, the 2-Day Park to Park portion remains valid until the first day of theme park or CityWalk usage and for the following thirteen (13) consecutive calendar days. |

thought i'd chime in with my HHN rating, based upon three run-throughs of most houses & Bill/Ted.
Mods - if this is not the place to post such a review, apologies. please move it to proper thread, but i didn't notice one. Spoilers and honest personal opinion ahead. Note that I center a vacation around the event and have a very high level of expectation each year so my views may differ from the pack. ![]() Gothic Well done best in show production and scareactors.House of Horrors What a nice surprise. The last room is a great idea but too bad the house wasn't allowed to be portrayed in total darkness for the best effects, safety 1st. Alice Im a fan the storyline made perfect sense to me. The scareactors were really in character here Penn & Teller lighting effects good and Sigfried & Roy gag a hoot ![]() Dead End missed the mark for me, a few good scares though Walking Dead Contractually no actual actors portrayed, it is what it is. i'll term it disappointing and a missed opportunity to shine. The bunny slipper girls outside entrance effective. Many comment on the fence interaction but never did see anything going on there, must've been the timing. Silent Hill not a fan of the movie or video game but familiar and recognized the icons Bill & Ted's material is much improved over last year! Cast enthusiasm thru the roof and much appreciated. The male dancers are again, stellar . Roving Scare Zone jmho, the majority of the scareactors (with exception of roving ones) seemed inexperienced as to timing. I'm going to guess that many were new to the game. A great scareactor can compensate for a marginal house, this year's event needed more of them.Rocky Horror Picture show, is still missed. ![]() That said, i appreciate all the efforts of those invoved in this year's production and look forward to next year being even better. Question about Stay & Scream. I decided to make reservations at Finnegans at 3:30PM and understand this place is near Stay & Scream which we've bought tickets. Is this a good use of time (outside of buying early access pass) while we wait for HHN to open? Should I make my reservations even for a little later as this will be our dinner meal?

Can someone explain to me what the Bill & Ted & 20 Penney shows are like? Are they inappropriate for our 9 & 16 year old boys? I know a lot of people would recommend that I not take the 9 year old to HHN, but he's loved haunted houses since he was 5 & is a Walking Dead junkie so I think he'll be fine with them. Also, I do realize that there will be drunk people there & he knows that it's inappropriate, but won't be totally shocked by it.

The holding area opens at 5pm but you'd better be in line around 4:45pm if you want to get in. There's always two long lines waiting to get in so if you're not in line early, you may not get in. Would that matter? I don't know but it irritates me that they have been letting the general public in early but won't let the holding area open early.

) and then we have to get our bag and rental car and try to get to Universal and to the holding area by 4:45. We would even have to skip checking into our hotel which is actually closer to WDW due to no availability in our "free" chain.I wanted to order the undercovertourist deal but I don't think that I will chance it. We'll just have to bite the bullet and get just the passes from UT and S&S from the Universal website. Now about those Express passes.... I would assume that these would be recommended for Saturday August 27?
