I'm a huge fan of the show. I would love to get my cousin picked the next time we go with him and his family.

Although signs are officially discouraged, the CMs love them, and it's really cool when the guests gives the sign to the Jedi Master after the show! Other than that, rabid enthusiasm from the child, NOT JUST the parent, is the most surefire way to get in!!

This thread is great! We are coming from Australia in October and I know my DS age 7 will love it. Trouble is, I also have a 4 yr old who would also want to be up there with his brother - is it likely a 4 yr old would be chosen? I'm thinking of dressing them in matching Star Wars t-shirts and giving them a sogn to wave, hopefully then they would both get picked. The 4 yr old would be heartbroken if he wasn't allowed to join in!

I wouldnt put them right next to each other. Make sure there are a few kids between them so the Jedi Master can see them separately. And make sure they are enthusiastic

From what others have said though it seems they are more likely to be chosen as a pair if dressed together? And do they choose 4 yr olds or would they ignore him as he's too young?

It depends on what 4 is with your child. My child was 6 when she was chosen and she was a very tall 6. There was one or two more just smaller than her. If your 4 year old is an older 4 who is taller then maybe. Since there really is no age minimum, it is up to the Jedi to choose. I know when we did it, he chose VERY randomly to get a good mix from various areas of the audience.

We were there the weekend before the 4th. I had my 3 nieces (6-10yo), my cousins nephew (9), and my cousins son (2.5). They were all together, and jumping and cheering. They all ended up getting picked, with the little one getting picked last as "the infant child", and he was the hit. The big thing is can they follow directions appropriately? The big ones all fought Darth Maul while the little guy fought Darth Vadar.

Thanks so much for all of the tips. I know DS would love this, but I think DD would be scared.

I think its part of life, to learn to handle disappointments. We've taken many kids, we show them how to be excited and show the Master they want to be part of it. We've done signs, we've done clothing, and we've made sure the kids know they may not be picked, but we can always try again later. |

My older son did this in May at WDW. I would love for him to be able to do this at DL as well.
From reading this post, it seems like the trick is to dress Star Wars and be really enthusiastic? What about costumes? and lightsabres? would bringing those help? Also, is there an age limit for this? My youngest is 2 and half and he LOVES Darth Vader. Is there anyway he would be able to participate in the show? Not sure if he would be able to do the fight routine, but is there another way he could participate? Thanks.

They really do scout them out ahead of time, so be early, participate fully, and they will decide if they can risk it. The age is usually 4-12. Last edited by Malcon10t; 10-16-2012 at 11:25 AM. |

I've seen many four year olds get picked. I think that's about the youngest they'll go. Give him a pep talk right before explains how it works so he's not afraid.

Thanks. My oldest was 4 when he did this at WDW, that is the youngest age they will take.
That is why the "infant child" thing intrigues me. They do not have this at WDW. My younger son loves SW also and of course wants to do everything his big brother does! It would be awesome if he could participate too!
