) and that was it. She was very nice and I'd recommend her if I could remember her name!!! It started with an A, but I was too relaxed to pay attention.........

I had a cabana massage on Castaway Cay and there was no product offering at all!
This is in contrast to virtually every other cruise massage I've had. I do not like my time being wasted, so if they start a spiel, I interrupt politely and say that I am not interested in hearing about any products. That works well.

I did the same as jilljill, and as soon as the salespitch started, I mentioned that there was just no way I could get any extra stuff into my suitcase. The pitch ended, and it was never brought up again.

I will pretty much never go to any spa on Disney property land or sea for this reason. And WAY overpriced as well. If there would be an onboard special perhaps maybe. But I find the sales pitches intrusive and awkward. And they aren't always just at the end. I've had folks interrupt my service for a lecture.

I still think it sounds rude to say, "I'm not interested..." no matter how 'politely' one says it, (IMHO.)
I've always written at the bottom of the form "I prefer to not buy any products right now." After 9 massages in 10 years, I've never had an issue. |

I have always written "no sales pitch, please" on the bottom of the spa form and have never once been pressured to buy anything at the end of my massages.

All of this has made me reconsider getting ANY Spa treatments on the Fantasy.
I find nothing worse than people trying to sell me something when I'm not there for a ""sale"--I'm there for a relaxing time. Why isn't enough to display the products or have literature available about the products? Anyone TRULY interested could then inquire. You would think that with all the people saying "not interested" in advance, they might get the notion that the hard sell dosen't work. OR--maybe for a lot of people it does?? You feel somehow "guilty" and wind up buying something you don't REALLY want or need.

I am so surprised reading all the previous posts. Have done a few different spa treatments on different cruises and I don't remember getting any sales pitch at all. Maybe I requested it on the form, but I don't remember doing so. My daughter did get a facial on a port day, and afterwards the attendant suggested a sunscreen moisturizer for her. I never felt any pressure to buy it, it seemed more informational to me.

Yes, they tried to sell me items at the end of each of my massages. They do it very subtly, but selling they are. It's my most unfavorite part, but I go anyway and I always enjoy the massage experience
