Fireworks to Fantasmic strategy

I can't find the exact thread but somewhere I read about the best place to watch fireworks and then head over for the late fantasmic show. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks!

I haven't been there myself as yet, however I believe the thread you may be refering to is HydroGuy's Sticky thread that talks about Fantasmic.

NTL, I will also be watching this to see if others can offer additional guidance.

I am trying to figure this out aswell. I just booked Fantasmic for Friday November 9th at 10:15pm.

I wanna see the fireworks that night and still get decent seats for my dessert package.

Problem may be that I have a 14 year old slug with me ,my 6 year old , my parents and 2 aunts who are all in there 60's and not so fast moving.

However, I had to let my dad call and make the reservation because I was at work and they told him to be at the seating area no later than 8pm......
Now I really am confused on the whole process. I thought I could take my confirmation number to city hall in the morning and get the tickets and hoping to run and pick seats while they waited. Hit the fireworks and make our way as quickly as possible to see the 10:15 show.

I am so confused why can Disneyland not just simplify things like WDW???? My trip planning for there last year as so much easier and was done a heck of lot earlier than 27 days before!!!

HOping some experts can chime in here??

this is what you are going to do... go to city hall or a ticket booth (I think you can get them from either now) in the morning, and get your passes. At 7 pm, put the "slugs" and other family members where you can find them again over in the hub, and tell them not to move (good view for the fireworks)... You are going to take your passes and go to the F! check-in (you need to be there closer to 7 than 8, by 8 pm the good seats are gone)... and check you all in and pick your seats. Then go back to the family when you are done (probably close to 8 by now) I'm guessing the fireworks are at 9:25? Watch the fireworks, then moving as quickly as the crowds will allow make your way back to the F! seating area and re-check in and take your seats (will be much quicker than the 1st time.) You are still going to need to move quickly as the fireworks are a good 20 minutes, doesn't leave you a lot of time to navigate the crowds, and it will be crowded.

I'll admit I know nothing about the dessert seating stuff, but we had no trouble at all going to the fireworks and second Fantasmic in July.

Go to the hub, find a good spot for the fireworks in the area immediately next to the entrance to Frontierland. You want to be just inside the hub area, but as close as possible otherwise to that entrance.

When the fireworks end, head immediately to Frontierland and the dock where the Columbia and Mark Twain launch from.

The time we did this, there were CMs with a rope across the Golden Horseshoe to the Rivers of America, keeping us from proceeding, and they made us wait there until the crowd from the first Fantasmic! cleared through Adventureland, then we were allowed to proceed.

There was a good sized crowd, but 99% of the people dropped off pretty early. We went a bit further and found tons of room in the "sitting down only" area just in front of the main soundboard and lighting controls. Waited a bit for the show to start, and it was perfect.

YMMV, this obviously is based on a two Fantasmic one firework type deal, if the evening in question doesn't have that, you may find you need to do something else... and obviously what I'm tossing out here doesn't speak at all to how you'd go about claiming a reservation... but I think the general structure would still work, drop your family off in a good hub spot near the walkway to Frontierland, head over to Fantasmic and get your reservation all figured out, come back, watch the show, then take everyone back to Fantasmic.

Has anyone tried watching the fireworks from the train station and then when they are over taking the train over to New Orleans square for the late showing of Fantasmic? Just curious if that would work out very well to avoid the crowds leaving the first show.

Great idea. If the trains are running! But they stop running the DLRR during the fireworks show. I am not sure how long it takes for them to start running again after fireworks.
