So this link is incorrect?

It specifically references a "certificate" that must be validated prior to 12/31/13. I assumed you could buy that "certificate" at DD GS.

We can't view the link without being signed in to the DVC site. Here's what it says that might put our concerns to rest:

"To take advantage of this special offer:

Call Member Services at ... ... ....
Click here to purchase online through the Walt Disney World Ticket Store
Visit any Guest Relations or Vacation Planning location at The Walt Disney World Resort

Insider's Tip: A Premium Annual Pass certificate is not activated as a ticket until it is used the first time. So, if you've already purchased an Annual Pass, you can still take advantage of this offer by purchasing it now (between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2012), but waiting to activate it until after your current pass has expired. Passes purchased on this offer must be redeemed by December 31, 2013."

The Insiders Tip doesn't specify where to buy the certificate if you already have an active AP, possibly that's where the discrepancy is.

Wanting to make sure I am clear. Purchase by 12/31/12 and must be activated by 12/31/13. So if I purchase these by the end of this year and activate them November 2013, they are good from November 2013-November 2014?

I was told that I could buy the DVC PAP voucher for a later activation at DHS. The CM that upgraded our DVC AP (renewals) to the new DVC PAP said that I could go ahead and buy the vouchers from her to use when we came back in January and needed them. I didn't do it because I have a Disney gift card to use for that expense and didn't have it with me. Could she actually have sold them to me? Who knows, but she did offer them to me several times.

You are better off calling MS. I've seen posts where members tried to purchase what they thought were vouchers from guest relations on site, only to have received active APs instead.

The problem with whether you can buy vouchers, in person or not, has to do with the age old Disney problem, no consistency.

I have talked to upper management at DVC about this ticket situation and I have talked to upper management in tickets this week and both are not on the same page.

So what they say you can do, which is what CF is reporting and what actually happens when you get to a Guest Services window, are not always the same thing.

I mean we have already had reports of DVC members being allowed to exchange their more expensive voucher that was previously purchased, for the new PAP and get a refund of the difference.

So sadly as with so many things Disney no one is going to know until they do it themselves.

My late wife and I were both fairly high level Federal employees. For years we had a saying which we used:

"Until we started dealing extensively with The Walt Disney Company we thought we worked for the largest bureaucracy in the world."

Is it better to purchase this AP through member services before we go this weekend and then pick them up there or just buy them at the ticket booth? Is there any difference?

Thanks!

Laurie

It does not matter if you purchase now or wait until you get there this weekend. Time at ticket booth getting the tickets will not be much different and prices and taxes are the same.

It is easier to just get them at a booth. Just be sure to have your Member Card with you and anyone else 18 or older must have proof they live in the same household.

buy PAPs for 2 years ?? voucher??

I need some help understanding these DVC discounted PAPs. We do not presently have any APs ours expired in May.

I would like to purchase the DVC PAPs for DH and I when we visit WDW in December prior to our cruise. I also want to purchase "vouchers" for my children and grandchildren (also DVC members).

DH and I will make at least 2 trips to WDW in 2013 and plan also to make at least 2 trips in 2014, so I would also like to purchase vouchers to activate at the end on 2013 to use the following year for DH and myself. The children and grandchildren will probably not make a trip till late in 2013 and then hopefully again in 2014 before the PAP expires.

My questions:

If DH and I activate a PAP in Dec 2012 that will be valid for 1 year, can we activate the "vouchers" earlier than Dec 2013? We may not be going
in Dec 2013---the late 2013 trip may be in Oct or Nov. The PAPs may overlap by a month or two---is that OK?

Also, I talked to MS yesterday and was told if I purchased the PAPs, there is no "voucher" sent to members. The transaction is recorded and held in "will call" until the member wants to activate the PAP. I could understand that, if I were going to active the PAP in the near future, but most of what I want to purchase will not be activated until LATE in 2013.
Is this correct??? No "hard copy" voucher? Guess it is hard for me to pay
2-3K and have nothing to hold on to!

TIA for any answers and help.

Donna
