Vwl

I tried to search but didn't have any luck. I'm planning on going to Disney world Thanksgiving week 2013. I own at SSR and will book at 11 month window but may want to stay at VWL. What are the chances I will get a 2 bedroom 7 months out?
Thanks

I know this is a popular question but it really is unanswerable. Leaving that aside though, what would you do with that information were it available? Will you not attempt to get that 2bd no matter what the odds? And wouldn't it be prudent to waitlist in case you don't get all of your nights?

I'm just curious what people expect as an answer to this question.

Two bedroom and studios go first then one bedrooms. The reason the one bedrooms are last is because they sleep the same number of people as the studio so people save the points and go for the studio first. This year they filled up quickly. We are going thanksgiving week. However if you book right at the seven month window or even walk the reservation forward from a few days earlier the odds are good but not great. Thanksgiving day is always the problem day. Vwl is our home so we got to book right away.

Joe and Lisa-thanks. I will make sure to do it right on the 7 month day
Mousewerks-I will try no matter what but I won't get my hopes up as much now and I won't do so much research on VWL. Planning is part of the fun for me. I was just curious how well others have done in the past so it is answerable in that sense.

Give it a try and plan as if you will get the waitlist since you enjoy doing so. That is a tough time of year to get a waitlist at VWL, but it's always possible, and dreams are crafted from hope. Have you considered a split stay in case you get a couple of days of VWL but not all? That way, you might possibly be able to enjoy a few days at VWL--we've done split stays and enjoyed them. Good luck!

We've decided against a split stay since we will have so many young kids (one 8, one 7, one 4, one almost 3, and one 18 months-four parents). I've never waitlisted before but in reading the forum it sounds like I could get lucky. Thanks!

Not wanting to do a split stay with that large of a group makes sense. Good luck with the waitlist!

we have never had a problem getting a 2bdrm at 7 mons until this year. We were however able to book a lock-off but prefer a dedicated. At this point are just happy we will be at VWL!

oops just reread your post..we never went Thanksgiving week..I would still give it a try, won't know until you try and so fun planning..good luck

Book your home resort, book online the first minute you can and hope for the best, wait list if you want to.

As to knowing for sure, if I could do that I would be on my yacht in the Caribbean spending all that money I won from being able to predict the unpredictable.

we own at BCV and booked 2BR, VWL at 7 months out for this Thanksgiving. We were able to get our first three nights Nov. 17, 18 and 19 at VWL and the last 3 at BCV right away. We wait listed for the last three nights at VWL and surprisingly, today we received an email that it came through! Glad to know we won't have to schlep to another resort halfway through our trip and I really wanted to experience VWL for our first time, for our entire trip.

VWL may be a bit easier to get now with BLT in the mix. However, we bought VWL just to be able to book the holidays there.

Congrats! There is nothing like VWL during the holidays. Enjoy!

There's one way to find out. Try to book VWL at the 7-month point for Thanksgiving. I personally think that the chances are slim, but it's worth a try.

I had my in laws booked at SSR for thanksgiving day with a waitlist for VWL (Studio), the good news is that the wait list came through about 2.5 months out. So don't despair if it's not available at 7 months, I would bet that you'd get the waitlist since many people book the rooms because it's their home resort then they switch at 7 months or book it just-in-case they decide to go. Also, keep checking online for availability as the waitlist doesn't work in realtime, so a room may be available for a short time and get snatched by someone else without the waitlist getting processed.
