I'm not sure what the package price discount will be but the POFQ room only rate is only discounted 5% under the new discounts announced for Oct. 10th. WDW reservations turn over at 6:00 am Eastern Time and their phone lines open at 7:00 am Eastern Time. We were originally booked for POFQ but switched to POR to get a 30% off rate. For any resort, some room types may not be available for the discounted price and it makes no difference whether you already have a reservation. If you do decide to book something on line now you can check on Wednesday to see if the category you booked is available under the discount. Sometimes the answer is yes, and sometimes it is no. You might learn that a normally higher priced category room is available under the discount in which case you might consider upgrading your room and still get it for less money than your original booking.

What I Learned:
-This was a lot of math to do...I'm not a Disney Visa cardholder, so I couldn't obtain the quote. I did the "A Fantastic Vacation for Kids of All Ages" promotion math based on this formula, the one I found most common on the DIS:
Rack Rate + (#of Adults x Child Tickets) + (#of Adults x Child Dining)
-With our current total ($2,383), we would only have to pay an additional $105.24 to add dining.
-The room only discount at Animal Kingdom Lodge would only cost ~$30 more than a non-discounted package at Coronado Springs. So Animal Kingdom Lodge upgrade for only $30?! I think an important decision needs to be made!

A dining package can not be added to a room only reservation.

It seems like it's the the difference between the regular DP($55.59) and the DDP ($99.97), which equals $44.38 and adding that to the kids DP, which is $17.16 for a total of $61.54. That would only be a savings of $38.43 per person per night on s/p/d for ddp.

We had a room only booked for a 2br villas at the beach club villas. I called today to see what discount we could get and the cm told me there were no more 2 br's available for the discount. Even though we want to stay at the Beach Club Villas, he was very nice and checked BLT, Boardwalk Villas and a couple other places but no luck!

With the prices posted per person/per day @ $101 (moderate) for a family of 4 - can it be assumed that only 2 adults would pay $202/day or does that rate only apply to family of 4?

They divide the room in 4 to get the rate per person (usually) so it would be more than $202 I'm assuming.

stay/play/dine question.....I (re)booked my trip with the q85 visa code but most of my trip was already paid for. (not on disney visa). I didn't have to put any new payment down using the disney visa and no mention was made of paying off the balance with it. I'm going to try and switch over to the GP offer on Wed if it's the same offer but just in case does anyone know if I'm supposed to use my Disney visa to pay the balance or a payment or anything at all?

I expect WDW simply converted your room only booking to a package. That is no problem at all. In our case, we already have park tickets with the no expiration option. We'd have to purchase park tickets for a certain number of days (usually minimum of 2 - 4 days) in order to purchase or receive a dining plan. AP holders would also need to purchase a package including room and park tickets in order to buy a dining plan (or receive a free DP.) This is why AP holders usually buy a Tables in Wonderland membership that will save them 20% off food and beverage at most TS restaurants and a few QS locations.

Free dining is based on the day you check in so if it is available on your date of check-in you can get it for your entire stay. If free dining begins during yur stay you would not get it on any portion of your visit unless you make 2 separate reservations with the second one beginning the day free dining begins. Almost always you will be able to stay in the same room and merely have to go to the check-in desk the day your reservation turns over.

But I think that if resort discounts end during your stay your rate will go up on the date the discount ends. I know for sure that if the rate season changes during your stay your room rate will also change when the new season starts just as the weekend rates (Friday & Saturday nights) are higher than the weekday rates.

They have based those numbers on 2 adults and 2 children in a room. Children up through age 17 do not add to the cost of the cost of the room even though from age 10 & up they cost more to feed. So your cost would definitely be more than $202. Sorry.

I finally just broke down, logged into my account, and applied for the DV. I was approved and put $200 of my balance on the account and called to get my discount.

I'm a little bummed because I have my heart set on staying in a Savannah room at AKL but those rooms are only 5% discount

The standard view and pool view are 35% off.

I kept the savannah view room but used the p/s/d instead of the RO discount and saved $484.12 but if I take the pool view I could save $1,144.88 because I'd get the 35% off with the RO offer.

I am fully aware that in the end it's my choice. I could get more of a discount if I modify my reservation but I wish WDW would just make my life easier by giving me a 35% RO discount for the room I want...why is that so much to ask

Thanks for your help but this answer does answer for the room discount part of this promotion. We are interested in the package promotion Stay, Play, and Dine. With the Stay, Play, Dine option the discount is on the tickets/dining portion of the package so the room is not involved since you would be paying rack rate anyways. Just looking for confirmation that this offer can be obtained when checking in on the last day of promotion since the promotion is tied only to tickets/dining.

I was told that the discount is extended for our entire trip. Just to be sure, I had her price out the same time frame (Mon - Mon) but not extending beyond the 7th of March. There was a price difference of about $40.

Also, originally I had DS9 booked as a child and when I called back to have him upgraded to an adult, the package price was exactly the same. The CM checked it twice to be sure it was right.

Thanks for posting that the Stay, Play, and Dine option did extend past the 7th.
