The $2400 was for RO and did not include tickets or dining. My original plan was to get tickets Under Cover Tourist and pay out of pocket for meals. My discount was less because it was CL, but the CM said that AKL was filling up fast. There was plenty of room at BC and Poly. I ran the numbers and if I had gone with my original plan with the RO discount of $100 I would have surpassed the $3500 for the p/s/d. I canceled my old ressie and made the new one with the Visa. I like that you only need to pay the $200 deposit with the Visa. Good news is that I was able to get airfare for all three of us RT for $510. Last thing I need to do is find a hotel to stay at for our first two nights before we check in to AKL on 1/2. I am looking for something under $100 a night that is clean. Any recommendations are welcomed.

That is frustrating - both paying adult for an 11 year old and the "fine print"

I know some people are getting DVs to have a better chance of getting the room they want but I don't really want a DV because I have cards where the points can go to anything not just Disney stuff. But...if rooms are going fast I wonder if I should do that?

I'm going at the end of Jan to avoid crowds but all these rooms filling up so fast makes me worried that the crowds are going to be higher than usual...but I'm guessing it's just limited rooms that are discounted so it doesn't neccessarily mean that the hotels are packed to the brim.

Great news on the airline tickets!! A little over $500 for 3 people is great!

No good ideas on hotels though - sorry!

I love disboards! Thanks to this thread, I just called and got the RO discount.

We're staying @ YC CL from 1/17-1/22. w/ 5 day park-hoppers & no meal plan.
It was $4600. But after the 35% RO, we saved $990 - which is almost how much our plane tickets cost. Definitely a great deal!

I finally just broke down, logged into my account, and applied for the DV. I was approved and put $200 of my balance on the account and called to get my discount.

I'm a little bummed because I have my heart set on staying in a Savannah room at AKL but those rooms are only 5% discount

The standard view and pool view are 35% off.

I kept the savannah view room but used the p/s/d instead of the RO discount and saved $484.12 but if I take the pool view I could save $1,144.88 because I'd get the 35% off with the RO offer.

I am fully aware that in the end it's my choice. I could get more of a discount if I modify my reservation but I wish WDW would just make my life easier by giving me a 35% RO discount for the room I want...why is that so much to ask

I just got off the phone with the CM and specifcally asked about POFQ and she confirmed that the RO is 5%.

If you plan on dining and tix then the p/s/d is probably the better option for POFQ.

So....... I talked to two different CMs at Disney Travel this weekend, and both assured me that if we have a Magic Your Way package, Room and tickets,(which we do), then on 10/10 all I have to do is call back and apply the 30% discount to the room cost. Does this sound right?

I did already have my reservation booked. If you have an account on the Disney site then you can still apply and if you get instantly approved you can start using the card right then. But you have to be logged into your Disney account to do that. The issue though is it only gives you the last 4 digits of the credit card and the CM had to get her supervisors account to let me apply the DV discount on the reservation. But they could see I charged $200 of my vacation on the card already so they let me...
