King Bed Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside - The DIS Discussion Forums

We booked a king bed room (2 adults) for our upcoming trip to POR. At POR, the king bed rooms are an actual booking category, they aren't a room request. I think it was $25 extra per night.

I looked on the POR fan website (portorleans.org) and it says that there are only 85 king bed rooms at POR (the entire resort has 2,048 rooms). I know there are not any kind beds in the royal rooms.

My question is if there are king bed rooms in the Alligator Bayou section? If so, do the king bed rooms in AB have the fold down mini-bed like the 5-person rooms in AB?

I'm curious because we really want a king bed room in one of the mansion buildings. We did request a room in one of the mansion buildings (the non royal room mansions), so here's hoping

We were just there in Aug. We stayed in a king bed room in AB and it did have a pull down bed. it was in bldg 14 a preferred bldg. We loved it!

we were in a POR king bed room last January

since they don't have many of these rooms you run the risk of getting a less than ideal location for your needs

we ended up in alligator bayou facing the parking lot, in one of the lodges furthest from the lobby building.... not the greatest location for most but it was pretty quiet and close to the bus stop and a nice quiet pool

can't really go wrong with any room location in POR, its a well designed resort... the exception may be for those with mobility issues
