UTH Tour Pics, HHN Reviews + *NEW LINK* to Howl-o-Scream Pics/Reviews! Post #17!
Well, hello everyone!
I am back from an amazing week in Orlando. I was able to attend Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, Howl-o-Scream, and Halloween Horror Nights all in the same week! Anywho, the three houses in the Unmasking the Horror Tour are Dead End, Gothic, and Penn & Teller. ![]() Enjoy the pics! Cheers! Marquibiri Last edited by Marquibiri; 10-09-2012 at 08:53 PM. |

HHN House Reviews and Shows
1. Silent Hill - I really liked this house. The themeing was that of the Otherworld in the Silent Hill games and movie. You see, there are three worlds. The normal world, the fog world, which is what you see in the first scene as you enter the house, and the Otherworld, which is how the rest of the house is themed on. They had a nice touch with the bloody veins and barb wires everywhere. For those that attended, they should have made a scene with the nurses (fake and real ones standing around and moving) similar to that of the House of Horrors (final room) where all monsters were together. Overall score 7/10 2. Gothic - My favorite house. Decorations, props, ambience was amazing. The structure of the Cathedral was great, so were the gargoyles (grotesque) and the balcony). Overall score 9/10 3. Walking Dead - Excellent house, especially if you are a follower of the series! Great scenes (found in the spoiler section which will follow this post). It was cool to see it with so much light, caught the items (in spoiler section). Obviously, later when it was dark, it was much creepier. Overall score - 8/10 4. Dead End - Great house, used lots of mirror effects, lighting, Pepper effect. Nicely done! Overall score - 8/10 5. House of Horrors - This was my least favorite house but as the days went by, I enjoyed it much more. By the end of the third day, I like it even more. Scares are good if you go alone, I truly could not see the scareactors until the flash came on and they were in my face! Saw the archways used in the Spawning and then in The Forsaken. Overall score - 7/10 6. Alice Cooper - Not being a fan of him, I enjoyed the house. It is the gory house IMO. Insanity indeed! Overall Score 7/10 7. Penn & Teller - Having been a day before to the 3D house over at Howl-o-Scream and loving it, I thought this 3D house wouldn't be any good (especially since I disliked The In-Between last year). However, I loved the house! It was so much fun! More details in the spoiler section! Overall score 8/10 FUN! Bill & Ted's - I enjoyed only a few minutes of it, I think at the very end and a few parts at the beginning. Other than that, nah... Overall score 5/10 20 Penny Circus - To my surprise, I enjoyed this! Much better than the previous Magic Shows..... Overall score 7/10 Cheers! Minor House Spoilers
1. Silent Hill - For those who played the game or saw the movie, the first scene as you enter the house, shows the car by where Harry Mason's daughter Cheryl got out after he swerved to missed a girl and was left unconsious. You then see Cybill (the cop) shooting and a creature. Several creatures are present throughout the house, even different types of nurses (following the game series). Pyramid head was scary as he dashes towards you! I also spotted the carrousel from the game series. 2. Gothic - The gargoyles costumes are wonderful. The fallen bell and bells effects are great! There is a section where a gargoyle flies towards you (saw the same effect in previous years, still great). The balcony scene is amazing! There is a gargoyle that flies across the sky! Also, the below ground cathedral effect is amazing (it is actually upside down and uses mirrors). 3. Walking Dead - Scenes from the series, the girl walker in the bunny slippers, the hospital scene, the department store, the sheriff station, the roof of the building, the rv, gas station, the barn... I LOVED IT.. See if you can find these items... the bunny slippers the girl walker uses from the opening scene of the series, Rick's duffel bag of guns, Merle's hand which he sewd off (the saw and handcuffs are there as well), Daryl's bike and crossbow.. 4. Dead End - Great house, used lots of mirror effects, lighting, Pepper effect. Opening scene has two ghostly props, one going up and down a staircase (creepy) and another one as you leave the room towards the next and has a broken neck (quite disturbing). The dead bodies being photographed and the body in the bathtub are quite scary. The scareactor got me there several times. Can you find Freddy Krueger's shirt? 5. House of Horrors - The black and white effects turned out nicely, I could not see the scareactors. Can you tell me which monsters you spotted? Dracula, Bride of Frankenstein, Frankenstein, The Mummy, Swam Thing, The Werewolf, etc... 6. Alice Cooper - Very gory house. Lots of guts and dismembered body parts throughout the house. The alice cooper masks are great. 7. Penn & Teller - This house had a lot of GATs (guest activated triggers) and made it a lot of fun. Right after you pass the Clean Room Area, there is a red button on the right, press it! Also, pull the chord beside the heart-shaped bed! And also, if you press the buttons after the buffet, you activate something that will scare the guests trailing behind... Have fun! Cheers! Marquibiri |

Thanks so much for the tour pics (that was our guide last year- he's great).
We were going to do the tour but then opted to go back and do the event again. Did you learn any more of the back stories of the house? I missed that part of the tour.
