And ah yes, the great Friday night wash out from last year. Hopefully they will have a contingency plan ready for this year. That scene last year was chaotic, for sure.

I think this year's dates may have bounced around a bit as well. After the 2011 event they were saying dates would be 10/5-10/6. Then the dates were listed on the website as 10/12-13. For a short period of time the dates looked to be set back to 10/5-10/6. I think there were some rumors that this caused a mess as plans were already in motion for 12-13 dates, so they had no choice but to stick with them.

I guess the point is that although it will probably be sometime in early Oct 2013, I wouldn't book any travel plans until the dates are set and confirmed.

Thanks Brocktoon and Robert P, work requirements dictate that we can't go the first weekend after the end of a quarter (financial reporting) so I'm hoping they stay with the second weekend next year and we might have a chance.

UPDATED:

Here now. The setup seems to be going well, and the weather is perfect so far. The event appears bigger than last year, but that could just be the layout looking slightly different. I would say there are more dining tables, for sure (for both standing and sitting).

The weather does look GREAT! Yes, bigger this year (as third and growing) so expanded both in offerings as well as the physical layout. I hope to cross paths with some of you out there!

I went last night. For those of you offended by the drunks at Epcot stay far away after around 8. LOL.

Tons of wine choices, not enough food choices IMHO. The food they had was great but the lines were long and since wine and beer were easy to get by 8:30 a lot of folks were feeling no pain.

There are lots of tables, but of course the prime seats were all blocked at 5:30. But I was fine with the standing tables and those were not blocked

Did see one woman have a fit when the Fresh stand would not give her 2 hamburgers because she needed one for her DH who was "holding our table". The server did not give into her whine.

My only disappointments were the deserts. Not near as good as the food. I decided to throw them away and get another hamburger LOL

Overall it was fun. I doubt I would plan my trip dates around it. I think next year I am coming later in October. The holiday week made it a little more crowded.

All the food stations were very good, but some had 5-10 minute wait, and this sucked if you had someone holding a table for you. Seriously, if you paid $80 x 2 and have two trays, you should get two samples.

I will post a bette review later.

Of course the table holding meant people like me could not find a place to sit so... perhaps they should not reward rudeness??? You didn't pay for reserved seating but you 'claimed it' and then are unhappy they didn't "endorse" your action?

I was with my family of 8 people that paid $80 x 8 = $640 and we all sat at one large table where we took turns going for food and drinks while at least one or more of us stayed to hold the table as we got there at 5:00. Also, my mother just had hip replacement surgery, so forcing her to move often, stand the entire event, or go fend for herself was not possible even though we paid $80 for her ticket.

I am not sure why that is classified as "rudeness" in your book, but there were no signs that sitting at one table with your family was not allowed and this was not posted in the info book we all received at checkin for arm bands.

I am NOT "unhappy" as that they did not serve two servings if you had two plates, I am just simply stating that I wish they allowed it as clearly you paid for two people. Unfortunately, I had to wait in several food lines twice just to help my disabled mother as she cold not wait in the lines and move past all the crowds.

Also, I saw plenty of tables available all night long, but they were at the far ends of the concourse.

Rather than be a hater and accuse me of being rude, perhaps you should contact the event coordinators and request them to have more tables in the future or simply get there early to claim your own spot as "the early bird gets the worm".

Also, when you make a false ASSumption about others and do not know the full story (i.e. handicap guests) well, you know what that means about your true nature.
