I would do a salmony pink or pinky salmon. Something like Farrow & Ball Cinder Rose. Have fun! At least it's small enough to repaint easily if you don't like it.

Actually, we just did one wall with the others in a soft white and then have gotten a bunch of magenta accents to add to it. It looks fantastic, but it would have been overwhelming to have the whole room that colour.

DD11 has chosen a lime green and turquoise colour scheme. I was skeptical but the accents look really nice together. We haven't painted her room yet...that's the plan for this weekend...but may end up just doing one accent wall like her sister's depending on how deep a colour she wants to go.

I agree with Hrhpd though - it's just paint so have fun!
She is using a zebra comforter with a hot pink underside. So first she wanted hot pink and black (uh no), then BRIGHT lime green, so I got some of the brightest lime green I could find and painted patches on her walls ~ it wasn't bright enough.

So now I think we've finally settled on gray. Her thought process sure is interesting, though.

A friend of mine had a pretty tiny powder room painted dark green. It looked awesome....elegant! The rest of that area was kind of beige or ivoryish.

We repainted our small bathroom last year - white! We can incorporate any colors we want for accessories, because everything matches. It's one of the most intelligent things we've ever done in our home.

We have often commented to each other how much we love the white. It also makes the bathroom look larger.

I take personal credit for this. It was MY idea!

Ack! Now I am more confused.

Our sink and toilet are cream colored. I have 4 kids and 2 dogs the only white thing in here is what my hair is starting to turn.

This time of year I want to paint orange! My husband is nervous. I'll try to update when I paint.

It's only paint.

Those would be my choices with your current colors though I like your magenta or orange idea if it's the right shade. I always read that small spaces can be little jewel boxes and not to be afraid of bold color. I haven't tried it but have seen pics that look really nice.

How about googling for pics of bathrooms in similar colors so you have an idea of what to expect? Good luck! I'm itching to paint a room now too. I have to wait til my family leaves for a long weekend in two weeks.

-Do you have a picture, special guest towel or some kind of inspiration decorative item that you can pull a color from?

My DD just picked out lime green for her room (honestly I thought it would grow on me but it hasn't) and she picked out the zebra comforter and zebra curtains

You could keep the tan an add stripes in 1 or 2 of many colors pretty easy to do once you tape off for the stripes. Easiest done on solid wall or top half of wall where there is nothing to break up the stripes.

Find center of wall decide how wide you want your stripes 3 to 5 inches I'd say the stripes don't even have to be the same width. VERY easy to paint over anytime if you don't like it or when you get tired of it.

OR you could go with the faux painting with a rag or plastic bags in 1 or 2 different colors even easier to do than the stripes.

If you do an online search there are many ideas very easy to do in the faux painting.

...well, there are several shades of green that work well with your sink and toilet. Heere is a pic of a pillow that I found. THere are several shades of that magenta you are looking for and they go nicely with cream!

....and notice that the one thin stripe near the bottom is a greenish, mossy color....

I would do a muted turquoise, darker rather than light.
