batteries for light up toys?

I've read a few posts from parents saying they wished they had brought batteries to replace when light up toys give out. This is our 1st Disney trip, so I have no idea, but is this really that common? If so, what size batteries do most of them take?

8 more days til we're there!

ours have the double a's. just a suggestion, if you have a dollar store around you can find a pack of doubles and triples there. they may have at your local store there light up glow sticks & necklaces, ponchos, other little wands or light up items especially because Halloween is around the corner.

the water fans take double AA's too. We brought some extra's with us too because the time before we had to buy them in Disney and they were expensive. I'm sure most toys take AA's.

We have bought a few disney light up toys over the years and while they are quite expensive, they are excellent quality and they DO last, including the batteries, a really long time. Pretty sure we have never had to change them at WDW. I think all we ever had took AA. I would not waste you time and money on cheap $ store batteries, you get what you pay for. We buy batteries in bulk at Sams Clubs. They work as well as any of the higher end batteries and are much cheaper.

The light-up pumpkin Mickey necklace (see below) takes three AG13 (Engergizer battery A76) for the Mickey and the neckband takes 2 CR2032 batteries.

If you are buying your light-up item there in the parks be sure to keep the receipt.
When we bought one of those spray fans on our first....and actually second trip, they replaced them when the battery went out on them. Both times we got one were the battery didn't last but a couple of hours, the Cast Members-CM didn't even blink and eye when we asked if we could exchange it since the battery went out. (once replaced they lasted the entire trip)
They said "you probably got one that's been left on, just leave it and take another one!" They did ask to see the receipt on one of those occasions.
You should be fine if you take a few and leave most of them in your room, just have a couple on hand when you go to the parks, just incase.
