I am glad that I'm reading this -- our PTA has decided to purchase a laptop for our treasurer (being me hehehe). I know my way around computers very very well, but to choose one with good parts is another! I'm actually a Mac household and love them to death!!!

Have you considered a Ubuntu based laptop? It doesn't sport the enormous software library that Windows does, but it's much cheaper and is in many ways superior, both in speed and security. It's also very pretty
 Plus, if all you want to do is mess around with pictures and music, it still has everything you need and more.

So I went to Walmart and they had my butterfly laptop. After i saw it in person I decided against it because the keyboard looks like cheap plastic.
I did see another one I like Toshiba 15.6" Satellite L855D-S5220. They don't have any in stock and they said they are no longer carrying them. In fact they said they are getting a new ship ment in of new models. does anybody have the Toshiba 15.6" Satellite L855D-S5220? if so do you like it or regret it?
