What time do you recommend getting to the parking lot? - The DIS Discussion Forums

A Disney veteran here, but headed to Universal tomorrow morning and again Friday evening for HHN. We usually plan to be at the Disney turn styles 30 min prior to rope drop. Is that also a good plan for Universal? How much time should I plan from the parking lot to entrance. thanks in advance. I'm so behind in planning, and any help would be appreciated.

Budget about a 10 min walk from your car to the front gate. It will be less, but that will give you time depending on what level you park. They have moving sidewalks, etc.

Do the gates open at 9 am sharp or do they sometimes start letting people in a bit beforehand?

They usually open about 15 minutes early.

They will sometimes open the gates early...it depends on the crowd waiting to get in. The more people who are waiting, the better the chances of being let in early.

So, is the parking garage open at 8:30 so we can park and be at the gate at 8:45 am?
