peemagg is just trying to get information to help everyone who might be renting ECVs while at Walt Disney World. Objectively, it looks like you're saying, "I know something you don't know."

We understand that the list isn't complete and that it's evolving, but given that the companies you're sure are on the list have paid a fee to be able to leave mobility device rentals at the resorts, it's extremely likely they'll remain on the list.

I can make some educated guesses based on experience. Randy's isn't on the list only because they deliver directly to the renter already. No need for them to pay a fee or change the way they do business. So here's my guess: the companies on the list are Walker Mobility and Buena Vista Scooter.

When I spoke with the owner of my preferred vendor he explained to me that Disney had worked out arrangements with several vendors (he was not one of them as he did not want to increase his prices) who were willing to pay Disney for drop off and pickup.

I can't imagine that he is the only vendor who is having this issue. I also get that there is time on the cast members part for handling, but perhaps they could have charged the guests directly the way they do for package delivery...
I am very upset to read this as I rented before from Apple and was pleased and intended on renting from the again this Nov but won't be able to maybe since my arrival time is in the afternoon

I guess I will be calling Apple tomorrow to find out if I will be able to rent from them. I am sure Buena Vista is one of the ompanies since they are located right at the BW but I prefer the smaller scooter from Apple.

Just another example of Disney's Customer Service going downhill. Not happy about this at all.

I don't see this as Disney's customer service going downhill at all, as they are only asking these companies to pay for the service of dropping their product off on WDW property. It must have been taking up a lot of the bellhops' time to move the scooters, and now Disney can hire more bellhops to handle the deluge. Your service is not being changed, you can still get a scooter. WDW is still going to hold it for you if you use a company that is paying for that service.

What is next will they dictate which shopping services guests can order from as this is another service that is "provided" to the guests as a courtesy Just as the handling of ECVs?

Like someone else mentioned I go to Disney because they make it easy for the disabled to be Accommodated.

Courtesy valet parking for those with a HA ply card is yet another service that uses "CM" time

I am upset that Dsney is now in effect telling me who I can rent a scooter from if I want the convience of it being there waiting for me when I check in.

So let me make this just a little easier... the number for the Boardwalk is 407-939-5100, ask to be transfered to Bell services and they will give you the current list. I am not saying, "I know something you don't know." What I am saying is that there was a change in practice and perhaps it would be good to check prior to arrival so that guests don't have an issue..... Maybe next time I shouldn't say anything at all..... Lesson learned!

I don't think this is a customer service issue either, I think it is about $. I think this does take up extra time on the part of the bell services. But I would rather they charged me a small fee for drop off and pick up at the resort similar to package delivery than to add it to the scooter companies so that I don't have to figure out which ones are preferred...

I agree about just charge me a fee for the using Bell Services and I do feel it is a decline in customer service as I mentioned what about grocery orders which I am sure out way in number compared to ECV and grocery orders are delivered to be guests room whereas ECV is picked up by the guest themselves.

And I checked Walker & Buena Vista are more expense at $30 a day

This has nothing to do with customer service Disney dose not have to let any company on their property. Yes as other said it a little about money but mostly about security and not having to have their cms deal with it since they not making any money off it. Disney is private property so yes they can basically tell you who you can order from all their saying is the other company can't drop off and have bell services hold them. Their not stopping them from making delivers directly to the guest.

Disney also dose not have to give you free valet parking. Disney is telling you which company's are willing to pay to make sure their guest get an ecv. Disney bell services are not their to hold things from outside company's. if your so upset complain to your rental company may be then their pay Disney the fee and then be your be able to have it drop off ahead of time.

Yeah why not just say the preferred ones can drop it for free and other Dan charge a flat fee of lets say 15 to the guest and be able to drop off ahead of time.

How is it a decline in customer service when it not a service they have supply. I also agree that this should be a cross the board change that affects all services that use bell services.

Thank you very much for calling, and for posting the response! It's great to see Apple on the list. And this change won't affect Randy's, because they've always delivered directly to and picked up from the renter (no Bell Services involved).

I worked as a Customer Service Supervisor for many years and any service provided as a courtesy to a guest/patron when taken away falls into what I see as a decline in customer service. I do agree it is all about the "almighty dollar" and cut backs in personnel not a problem only with Disney but everywhere do to the economy.
