Transfering reservation to a TA

Does anyone know if you transfer the reservation to a TA if there are benefits for the TA? Do they get the commission for the booking, even thought I booked it myself? If not, why would they want to take over the hassle of managing my reservation.

And if I wanted to pursue this option, how can I make the transfer?

Thanks.

The way I understand it, yes, they do still get a commission, but it's less than if they had made the original booking.

As to how to do it, sorry, I don't know.

YOu will need to contact the TA and see if they will take your reservation that you have already made. Once it is determined the TA will take over your reservation, you can either download the transfer form from DCL's website or have the TA email/fax you the form that needs to filled out and returned to DCL/TA to inform DCL that you are giving control of your reservation to the TA.

As above, the TA will get a commission, but it is significantly reduced from what they would have gotten had they made the reservation. They would be responsible for processing all payments after transfer and DCL will no longer discuss any financial issues with you (all must go thru the TA). Theoretically, DCL won't discuss anything with you, but that has not been my experience. I have found the CMs willing to discuss "general" sorts of questions, but not anything having to do with the details of my reservation. I've also found them willing to do some things for me directly involving odd things. Normal issues you would need to process thru the TA.

How to do it--complete the form and send it to DCL.

Be sure you are clear on what benefits TA will provide with a transferred ressie, particularly if you are looking at OBC amounts. Some TAs give their "usual" in hopes of gaining your future business; others reduce the OBC or other gift they might provide to keep it in line with their reduced commission.

IF you name the TA at the time of an onboard booking, they get full credit and commission.

DCL is very different than CRO when booking for parks. DCL will discuss with you anything other than financials. CRO on the other hand won't even talk to you...
