How early can I drop off my family and then return a rental car?

I know there are restrictions as to when I can enter the drop off area. If I want to drop off my family and luggage and then return car to Budget, how early can I do so?

In Port Canaveral official port opening time is 11:00 am but recent reports have been saying that people have been let in as early as 10:30 or 10:40...not sure if this is just for parking in the lot or to be able to pull up to the terminal curb and drop off luggage with porters.

We always go to the terminal area around 9:30 and wait. You won't be able to enter the cruise terminal until it opens around 10:30 but you can wait outside. I have never had an issue the last two times.

It varies. As MJ stated, they used to be very strict about 11:00....however, that has now relaxed. The porters won't be there to take luggage, etc. till they have everyone off the previous cruise. On our May cruise, we did the DCL bus and were literally the first family in the terminal at about 10:25. As soon as all the bus passengers were in, they opened the terminal to the awaiting crowd....about 10:30.

There is no need to get there at 9:30--IF they let you in, your family will just stand around with the luggage and wait for a porter. I'd suggest 10 if you want them to be in the very first bunch inside, or 10:30 if that works better for you. Getting there early won't get you on board any sooner; it will only move your waiting from somewhere else to the terminal.
