Unless you have a Royal Room booked you can't request Oak. Royal rooms are in Oak and Parterre, regular rooms are Acadian and Magnolia.

Room Assignment Managers can see reservations 30 days out so you should be good if you want to send it in. As for Oak you'd have to be reserved in a Royal Room to be in there.

I'm sticking with POR!
I will have to go visit CSR again to see, but the whole convention aspect and overall feeling of the resort leaves me feeling very cold for some reason. Not all convention resorts make me feel that way, but many do. Like Contemporary, I love aspects of it, but I would never prefer to stay there.

I love the boat service at POR too. I feel so comfortable there, which I guess is why I keep staying there. They and AKL are still my favorites!

Thanks. I knew there were Royal Rooms in Oak - I just didn't know that the whole building was full of them. Are there any Alligator rooms that would be within similar walking distance as Magnolia - but not a preferred building?

This is what keeps me from CSR. The two sinks offered at POR, plus the decor and beautiful grounds, are a huge deal for me. I mean, three women traveling....there better be two sinks! CSR seems lovely, but the desk and one vanity just doesn't cut it. I'll stick with POR or POFQ.

Checking in! We switched our reservation last night to POR for Dec 20-26 instead of AKL Dec 27-Jan 2. Just could not pass the FD. Sooo Excited!!

Any feedback on the best rooms for a RR Standard view??

I know that FD is sweet! I would ask to be in Oak manor near bridge to main building and corner room with 2 windows. You never know maybe you'll end up with water view!

Can someone tell me, if you stay at one of the farthest buildings, for example on the outskirts of AB, how long REALISTICALLY the walk from your room to the lobby would be? I've seen so many different versions. I will be there with my boyfriend only, no children, just two fairly fit adults (lol) so really is the walk that bad?

I once measured the maximum walking distances from any room at POR to a food court door using the ruler tool on Google Earth, and it came to almost exactly 500 yards from both the furthest AB and the furthest mansion building rooms. So at a decent fit walking pace (2-3 miles per hour) you could easily do it in 6-8 minutes once you've got the ideal route worked out.

We are here now. Building 24. The walk seems a little far when you forget something and need to go back from main pool. Especially when u add in heat and being at park all day. But it is a peaceful walk and not more than 6-8 minutes like Andre said. It is a great resort!

I've pulled the trigger and booked POR for January! We usually stay Deluxe and I'm gonna be reading this thread to get me pumped up for our Mod. stay..
Don't know if I should have, but I did not make any room requests except for top floor.
