Tell me why MNNSHP is worth the price - PLEASE!!!
So we fly out in 8 days
and DH is still giving me a very hard time over my wanting to get tickets to MNNSHP. He keeps saying 'I was there - it isn't that great". I keep pointing out he was there IN HIS TWENTIES (he's now 48) and I nor have our 7 or 9 year old children EVER been there and we should be allowed to experience it at least once. Just because HE doesn't think it's worth it doesn't mean we wont. But I do agree with him that it IS a LOT of money. We do get a discounted rate for being DVC members but ONLY if I preorder the tickets for pick up - and I have to do that SOON! There is only 1 night of our trip that we can actually go so I don't want to miss the boat. All of you believers that MNNSHP is worth the $50-60 price per person admission fee PLEASE TELL ME WHY so I can help him make an educated and appropriate decision!!!! I've never been - all I hear is "it's wonderful" but that doesn't give me any real info other than someone else's opinion on their own experience!!!! |

The short lines to get on rides is the main reason I go. The rest is just gravy. It's a good replacement for E-Ride nights which i miss terribly.

My DH felt the same way before we went last week. But after we went, he definitely agreed it was worth the money. He's not really into parades, but he LOVED the MNSSHP parade. And the fireworks show is amazing! IMO, it's the best one and worth the ticket price in itself. Being able to walk onto rides helped too
It was raining most of that night and we still had a blast.

Amazing parade
Fantastic Fireworks Non-existent ride lines Rare characters available for meet and greets Headless Horseman Tons of candy Dance parties Ability to enter MK at 4pm with just your MNSSHP ticket (which allows you to go to a different park in the morning with your regular ticket) Leave him at the hotel and take the kids yourself. There...I just saved you $50. Your DH should be happy.

Just go to YouTube and pull up some recent videos of the parade and fireworks. For me, I love the parade and that is what sells me. Now some folks mentioned the short lines. When we've been there the crowds were huge and the lines were worse than during regular hours. But I love it anyway for the atmosphere.

The candy is not exactly free, you pay $60 to get in, but it is a nice perk.
Sometimes the lines for candy are longer then the lines for rides..LOL Fireworks are great and if you can stay for the second parade the crowds drop big time.

We have been to WDW many times, but have only done MNSSHP once before. I must say that it was one of the most memorable things my family has ever done at WDW. We enjoyed the character interaction, especially meeting characters that are not out at other times of year. The parade is not to be missed, nor is the Villains Mix and Mingle (high energy castle stage show) or Hallowishes (a nice spin on Wishes).
I really liked going on Haunted Mansion during the party. When we were there the CMs were extra creepy, and a layer of fog was a nice added effect, This has been 5-6 years ago and I understand there are other HM pluses now. We are looking forward to returning for a MNSSHP in just a few short weeks.

My sister and I went last year for the first time and had a BLAST. We dressed up, which was so much fun. Unfortunately since it had rained that day the headless horseman couldn't make an appearance, which disappointed me, but with high hopes I am waiting to see him on Thursday. The candy was fun it was like being a kid again. I think it is worth the money. I have been at Christmas time and seeing "fake" snow does nothing for me, since I get too much of the real thing. Convince your husband...you will have a blast.

We never made it for a Halloween party, but we did go to a Christmas party. We made the party twice.
In my opinion, I think it's not worth it if you go to the park and do things that you can do during a normal visit. To get your moneys worth, do the things that are there for only the party. Rare characters or characters dressed for the occasion. The special parades and shows made for that party. The first time we went, we got caught into doing things that we could do any day and at the end, we felt like it wasn't worth it. The second time, we concentrated only on the special event things and we felt much better about it. |
