We had a 16 hour car trip, and did gifts along the way. We didn't do them every hour, but I bought new movies to watch (and we also got America the story of Us from the history channel for them to watch LOL), sticker books, just plain paper and stickers, Look and find books from the library, pipe cleaners really were a big hit for us, too, New Barbies and little cars for the boys, We just had various things wrapped up, and they loved it. They also had 'snack' gifts! We stopped at several parks along the way for picnics and just to get out and run around. Hope you have a good trip!

I'm going to make the bigger kids activity books.
I like the state line idea!

I have 4 kids and an 18 hour drive. There is no way I'm busting out 72 gifts.

Okay, I'll be honest, I won't even drive. 4 kids through the airport and 2 hours on a plane is trying enough. We wouldn't all survive the drive.

I came close to this I think with my 4 kids and a 16 hour drive. But I am now out of room in the car LOL! I have two large gift bags packed with gift wrapped prizes. I think my DH is ready to flip out.

LOL. I don't blame you. We would fly if it wasn't going to add a minimum of $1200 to our trip - not to mention renting a car, dragging car seats with us, etc. Maybe when they're older and can carry their own stuff through the airport....

My kids are pretty good in the car, but they've never been tested on a trip this long, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be OK.
