How long can you hang out after Wishes is over?

This is our first dessert party. I know leaving the MK after Wishes is a nightmare. One time a stranger grabbed my rear end while we were leaving after wishes and scared the stuffing out of me . It was an accident and he was very embarrassed. My dh couldn't stop laughing because I screamed so loud.

Can we hang out and wait for the crowds to thin out?

Yes. We did the Wishes Dessert Party in April. Once it was over, we asked a CM if we could just hang out in the terrace for awhile and she said "absolutely". All of the eats and drinks do get carted out immediately after Wishes is finished but the tables and chairs stay. We sat and played with our kids at our table for another 45 minutes after Wishes finished.

1) Yep.
2) A wait of 45-60 minutes is easily doable.
3) Stores remain open, so sitting or browsing can be done.
4) Only once in a while do we leave "with the mob".
5) We also like to wait a while (but usually in the 30-minute range).

At the Dessert Party - even if you think you're full, refill your drinks and grab one more plate of simple finger foods just before Wishes starts. If you don't watch Wishes from your table, make sure you tell the CM you do NOT want them to clear your table during Wishes.

Then when Wishes is over you can sip your iced tea and nibble on one last brownie while you wait for the gridlock on Main Street to disperse.

Thanks for the advice! I'm sure the kids will be tired but I'm hoping we can hang out for at least 30 mins instead of getting into the mad rush.

While you're waiting, ask about the "kiss goodnight", a special light show at the castle that runs a couple times after closing as the guests trickle out. (This is not "MM&Y", it's something simpler that's been running for years.)

I think this happened while we were there last year! We were some of the last out of the park and all the sudden it looked like another show was going to happen. It was more a nice way to say, "get out." I wondered what it was!

We walked around the "lands" for about 45 minutes after Wishes last year while eating ice cream. It was quiet and oh so relaxing.
