I have never used my Airmiles to buy park tickets before. I have enough saved up for our upcoming trip in March. My question is can someone explain to me how it works with buying extra days? There will be a 7 y/o (child), 11, 14 and 2 adults (so 4 adults in total) and we will be @ WDW for a total of 10 days. The most I can use my Airmiles for is 7 so I will need to pay for the extra 3 days.
I have read in previous posts about people buying extra days...how does this work? Am I buying them at regular price? If so it's not really a deal as I am still going to be paying $1200 for the 3 days. I read somewhere about using it for one day and then paying the difference for the remaining days? Does this make sense? How does this work? Any help would be appreciated as I have never done this before and honestly I don't have a clue what I am doing....LOL ![]() Thanks in Advance ![]() ![]()

The difference on the Disney website is about $32 per ticket to upgrade from a 7 day to a 10 day base ticket.
From what I understand is that if you use your tickets for at least one day then upgrade you protect the discount you got when you bought them if you bought them from somewhere like Undercovertourist. When the ticket is used once they calculate the value of the ticket as being bought at the gate in Disney. But since you got them with Airmiles I don't know if you have a discount to protect but to be safe just use them once and then upgrade. For example if the regular price is $306 for a 7 day but I got mine for $290 and I upgrade before using it once, that ticket shows the $290 price. The 10 day ticket is $336 so I'll pay the difference of $46. After I use my $290. ticket once the value of the ticket reverts to the regular Disney price of $306 so therefore the difference I pay is $30. If I'm wrong about this someone correct me. Just have to go to the ticket booth and tell them what you want and they do it for you. See post #6 on this Ticket Sticky thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684

OK I think I get it now :-)
Thanks for the clarification on this....it's costing me an arm and a leg for airfare so any savings in other areas are going to help tremedously. |
