Loews Royal Pacific
Has anyone stayed here recently? Hubby is going down for a work related function and we decided to plan a quick surprise trip to do Mickey's Halloween party. One night would be paid for by his company, but it's pricey the next few nights. The reviews I have read are really mixed and I'm weird when it comes to hotels. We stayed at the Hilton Bonnet Creek last month and LOVED it. I currently have a room at the Hilton in Downtown Disney as a back up. Should I plan on staying at the Hilton or will Loews beat my expectations? We stay at Deluxe hotels when we stay on site.
TIA. |

This is a fantastic hotel. Way better than a regular Hilton. Probably comparable to the Bonnet Creek Hilton. I am very surprised that you read mixed reviews.

We were there in August. It's our absolute favorite hotel in Orlando. The staff is excellent, food is delicious, and the rooms are very nice.

Thanks for the responses and the link. I tried searching but used "Loews" and that thread didn't come up.
I fear change. We recently switched to off-site locations after staying at the JW and Ritz in 2011. The Hilton Bonnet Creek gave us a $95/night rate in August and I just couldn't pass it up. I got an $87/night rate at the DD Hilton. We would just be doing Disney for the party and then spend a day relaxing at the pool. Hubby will have been working all week so I want to make sure the down time of his trip is really nice. |

We booked a throwaway night here for FOTL access at Universal for two days. I though the overall service level was a solid step up from a Disney "deluxe". For example, there was chair-side service at the pool. And, the pool complex is quite nice. It might not quite measure up to the JWM or RC, and I thought the rooms were a little on the small side, but overall I was pleased.
