Part time Questions!

I did the CP in 2010 (Merch) and have been home since January of 2011...last week I found out that I got a part time merch job at Fantasyland. I plan on asking them a bunch of questions at my on boarding appointment, but for anybody who may know the answers, I'd like to know sooner rather than later.

The first question: My On-Boarding appointment is Oct. 5th, but my recruiter said that the job starts Oct 14th. Does this mean that the week after the 5th, I will get all of my training (like Traditions, Once Upon a Time is Now, and Merchantainment) done and be ready to start my first shift on October 14th or that Traditions would be the 14th and so on...

Question 2: How long do I have to wait to pick up shifts? I have a place to stay, but I have to pay $100 a week and if they only schedule me three days like they said they would, I won't be able to survive, so I'll need to pick up shifts. Will I be able to pick up shifts as soon as I complete my merchantainment class or do I have to be there a certain amount of time before I can?

Question 3: Is it possible for them to schedule me more than 3 days? She put me down for full availability. I just want to know if I'll have to pick up shifts every week, or if it's possible that they'll give me plenty of shifts some weeks without me asking for extra.

Question 4: Does anybody need a roommate? Where I'm staying is almost an hour away and I'm looking for a place closer to the Disney Area.

Thanks!

There's got to be SOME part time people on here, or least people who know how this works. I'd really like to know.

Why don't you call Disney and ask? They would be much more accurate than anyone on here.

WDW Job Line is 407-828-1000

The "onboarding appointment" that you speak of sounds a lot like the stuff that goes on over int he Casting building on CP check-in day. singing legal company documents, completing the I-9, doing the background check. that stuff.

No offense, but your post was extremely unhelpful and did not answer any questions that I posted.

I finally found out the answers I was looking for between one of my old roommates and an old leader. My leader also gave me a different number to call. I'm pretty sure the one you gave me was just for Casting which I had already called (and didn't help one bit)... the number she gave was the Job line 407-WDW-JOBS (407-939-5627).

Also, I never asked what the On-Boarding appointment was, but you're right.

Sorry if this offends you, but please know what you're talking about, and read the entire post before you try to answer someone's questions.
