What would you do with a day to yourself at OKW?
Flying in to OKW by myself to join up with about 20 friends for a (non-Disney) cruise the next day.
I'll get "home" about noon....and I can't decide what to do. I won't have a park ticket or a car. My friends won't get in until evening. What would YOU do with your time?? |

Probably spend some time at the pool and the Gurgling Suitcase and take the boat to DTD.

Do you enjoy spa? You could do the Spa at Saratoga Springs for a relaxing massage to kick off your vacation. You could take a bus to Magic Kingdom and then hop around the hotels on the monorail loop (especially nice if you are traveling near the holidays). The pineapple Dole whip in Polynesian is just like the one in MK. Or see if you can get afternoon tea reservations at GF Garden View lounge and something I could totally see enjoying the serenity alone with a good book!
You Could catch a movie at the new theatre in Downtown Disney. It's a nice relaxing boat ride from OKW there. Maybe enjoy a pint of Guinness at the Irish pub. I might be inclined to go for a walk or run around the area...love to explore areas on foot and see how far I can run. Of course there is always shopping! Hope this helps..enjoy! |

Find a nice sunny but not overly hot spot to sit, relax, soak up the atmosphere and read the day away

If you have something larger than a studio, sit on the porch with a good book and a cool drink. Walk over to Olivia's for a nice lunch/early dinner. Get a little ice cream from Goods to Go. Go to the leisure pool in your neighborhood instead of the main pool.

pool definitely - probably hot tub too.
take pictures. some places have ducks or otters. see if you can get a massage at OKW - it generally requires 24 hour notice - but hey you might get lucky. while the sun is still up - get some DVD and watch movies might go to DHS or MK and watch the fireworks from bridge between BW and BC - or the CR or Polyn remember DHS - if you go to Epcot then you have to use a pass to get to the resort area - if you go with DHS you can use the boat or walk

wow....what a wonderful thing!!!
Sit poolside with a drink from the suitcase, around 4 get into room and take a long tub with some nice music and a glass of wine, leisurely stroll back to HH and take the boat over to DD and grab a nice bite to eat at Wolf Gang. Hit The big G and grab an ice cream cone for the boat ride back. Upon return, grab my book, another glass of wine and sit on the deck and read. Wow....sounds like heaven!! Have a blast. che

If you want to stay put at OKW, you can't beat the shrimp and grits or the BBQ pork chop at Olivia's either. Oh, now I am home sick. Lucky I will be there on Friday. We are just there for a night before cruising on the Fantasy. We have a group of DH family going and will be eating at Raglan Road. Enjoy! |

Great suggestions, guys!!
Guess I should hit the library for some books. And I love the idea of a movie (haven't seen one in ages) and Raglan Road for entertainment. |

I agree with other posters! A facial or mani pedi, reading by the pool if the weather is nice followed by lunch at Olivia's (really good burger & cuban sandwich) Then a lovely boat ride to DTD for dinner and a movie! We did this in February, my best and I! Our first 2 day vacation w/out the kids! Utter relaxation! And I fondly remember that brisket quesadilla!

I would lounge by the pool with a book and a drink then boat over to DTD for Earl of sandwich, people watching, shopping and Ghiradelli!
Sounds like you will have a great day whatever you decide.
